  1. I will try make it up next year! I miss the fish club. May have to sign up again! I found photos of the fighter tank from last year! I miss keeping fighters. Glad you all had a fun weekend!
  2. I try and only buy from the farmers markets. Way cheaper than the supermarket and the quality is so much better. I was pretty happy with myself the other day. $20 and I got two bags of plums, heaps of golden kiwi fruit, 2 heads of brocolli, fancy lettuce, spring onions, leeks and whatnot. And I seem to be the only one in the house that's a total fruit and vege fiend, so it's good. Leeks at the supermarket were $2.50 each for these tiny little things, as opposed to $1 for one twice the size and so much tastier. It's worth getting up early on a Saturday morning for delicious things! And I like to attempt to grow veges you don't see in the shops so often. Pak Choi and kohlrabi are super! I spend too much time tracking down funny coloured or random veges from various websites. It's a sad obsession! My ultimate goal is to be pretty self sufficient, i'm forever dreaming about things haha, i grew up in the middle of nowhere surrounded by farms and I have an obsession with chickens, so i'm planning to settle in one place and find some nice hens next year! Nothing better than fresh eggs! :happy2:
  3. Take heaps of money. It was dangerous last year. My dog ended up with a new waterbowl, more toys, soaps, lots of stuff he didn't need, and a lovely little bath robe with a big blue heart, big hood and a gingham tie which makes him look like a really feminine canine boxer. Poor boy haha! Good luck guys! Wish I was in Auckland to come have a look!
  4. It would scare me too much to think about how much i've spent on cigarettes, nights out and fast food in the last few years. That's a decent deposit on a house. Feeling a bit more mature and way better with money now! And i'm attempting to get healthy, that helps!

  6. I've spent all day painting an old AR620 metallic blue, just because I can. And it's looking pretty good. Probably won't win any awards for my painting any time soon, but it's looking a whole lot better than it did when it was yucky old grey. :bounce:
  7. Worst case Stone and Water World has some big bags of flat rocks for about $10. You could make so many caves out of a bag!
  8. Not gonna lie, I placed a bet against him. Barrett was the obvious choice and now we hopefully don't have to watch as Tua painfully goes another 12 rounds. I can't take it. After watching the Golden Gloves a few months back i've found we have some pretty solid up and coming boxers in the country that could take his place! God I love boxing!!! What's up? It's just stopped snowing in Rotorua which is disappointing. Now i'm going to set up my tank in a different corner of the room and take a trip to Wonderworld!
  9. Awesome Josh! Oh my gosh I can't wait til I move this weekend I want to breed fish again!
  10. I can't solve your problems but I can tell you that I got to see Kirk Torrance in his togs the other day and he's pretty nice to look at. The perks of being a lifeguard.
  11. Can't rely on them in Howick/Pakuranga. I think I went to school with half of them. Congrats and good luck!
  12. Ooooh work Josh! I start at 5.30 tomorrow morning so up at 4.30 and i'm hanging out on here after reading Practical Fishkeeping. :smln:

    Buzzys Reef

I love this! I hardly bother looking at the saltwater sections because marine doesn't really appeal to me. Always seems to look overdone and manky. But this is amazing! Simple obviously works!
  14. I'm pretty much a hippy at heart, might just live in maxi dresses, buy a sweet gypsy truck bus, plug my fish and and go. The dog and the cats will love it too. Saves so much time and effort packing. Poor wee fishes must be so over moving!
  15. What's up? I'm sitting here getting jealous of everyones tank projects, looking at my miserable looking tanks being used for the sole purpose of keeping the fish happy until I move to Rotorua in a month! Researching different fish again and starting from scratch. I want a nice planted tank, and maybe a nice big native one. Getting excited to be nice and close to Wonderworld. I love trips to Rotorua! But now I have to get back to the huge pile of fish stuff lying on the ground in front of me. Anyone want to volunteer to pack it all up for me???
  16. The gym is my addiction right now. I've had gym memberships where i've been like half a dozen times. I just got excited about it one day and now I look forward to going. I've gone from being the laziest person to super active all of a sudden. I still have bad habits, but over all I feel amazing! Find a good trainer and get them to make you a plan. Mix it up every 6-8 weeks. Make sure to book appointments to track your progress, if you have to attend then there's no excuse for not having a good workout when you're there. Get your trainer to write you up a plan every month if you can, so you know which days you have to go. Work it around work/kids/commitments and then you can't say you're too busy! Go first thing in the morning if you can, that way it's over and done with and you don't have to think about it too much. Find something you enjoy doing too, my friend got me obsessed with skipping, now you can find me out on the balcony jumping rope for hours. Buy a bike, take your dog (or steal a friends for few hours) for a walk. Good for you and the dog! Swimming is so good too, i'm actually a lifeguard, so I get forced to do it every week but you notice a huge difference even if you don't feel like you're doing much. I watch people aquajogging and stuff every day too and some of these people are ancient but super healthy and in good shape, so it obviously works! As soon as you can see a difference in yourself you will get super motivated! :nilly: I'm 165 I believe. Too short! Pretty gutted to learn I was 5'4" when i'd being telling everyone I was at least 5'6" for years haha!
  17. I would leave him there, see if he has any sense of direction. I miss the Auckland club. Might have to join again as a very long distance member!
  18. I wouldn't stress about the minnows. I have a pond with 7 adults, they're so fat, there's maybe a few hundred babies in there with them. They breed out of control!
  19. I love mine so much! They're just amazingly fast. They're getting used to me watching them now so they come out a whole lot more than they used to. I could sit and watch them play for ages! Hope they breed, I want a whole army of pandas!
  20. I want to breed pandas! The ones I got from you are pretty big now!
  21. HAHAHA. Comfy shrimping rules! P.S - Your brother is the cutest!
  22. Amazing! I thought the same haha! I struggle to find decent pictures but WAYNE ANDERSON! I look 12 haha.
  23. My babies when they were soooo little! They're big baby tom cats now and they like to destroy things! But at least i have proof they were adorable once! Will have to get some new pictures. 5 months old now! :happy1:
  24. Haha I got it a couple of hours after i posted. Yus! Thanks Caryl!
