My point, clear coat or other, is that it's funny that it's like they think just because i'm an adult you're not going to sniff it or draw on fences. I could have been pressured into buying it for an unruly gang of 15 year old thugs in the carpark. I made this side table instead though. And I made triple chocolate banana muffins. Aaaaand now I feel fat.

Yeah I was like i'm gonna go out and draw nasty images and write nasty words everywhere!

I hope this happens to me at 37. I will be so pleased! I can go to most of the pubs here without being asked for ID, but the other week I was asked for ID at Mitre 10 because the clear coat paint I was buying was in a spray can. I don't understand how i'm considered "responsible" because i'm an adult or what the point of it was. No time to ponder this, must feed my first little batch of bristlenose babies! So cute.

Just had some young lads from the church come to the door. Not upset about dinner being interrupted because they asked if they could speak to my mum or dad, or any adult that was home. I'm almost 23. I did a little dance.

cats, anyone else love them this much...

Hahaha, oh as much as I hate him this made me so happy! Should trap him and put him down! -

Anyone who thinks they would do that is insane! Interesting that thing popped up on Facebook. There was a thing on TV awhile back about a colony of cats somewhere in the country that they trapped, neutered and released, and I really do think it's better than nothing. -

SPCA Facebook page this morning. "The SPCA absolutely does not release cats into the wild. Our Trap, Neuter, Release (TNR) programme deals with stray cats only - domestic cats that have been abandoned or otherwise left to fend for themselves in urban areas. The SPCA or colony carers trap these cats and the SPCA desexes them, before releasing them back to their colonies where they are regularly fed and cared for by SPCA volunteers. Desexing all cats in a colony ensures that the colony will not be maintained and will eventually disappear. Cats in our SPCA Centres who are unable to find homes for whatever reason are euthanised, not released into the environment. The cats that live in the wild are classed as 'feral'. Feral cats are born in the bush and have no dependancy on people for food or shelter, and so they resort to hunting for their food, preying on both native and introduced fauna. Research shows that their main diet is made up of land mammals such as rats, mice and other introduced pest species. Feral cats are declared a pest species and as such are outside of the SPCA's jurisdiction. Please listen to SPCA National President Bob Kerridge's response on RadioLIVE here: http://www.radiolive.co.nz/Bob-Kerridge ... fault.aspx " I think this thread needs to be locked now because it goes round and round in circles, and shows how ignorant people are on both sides of the debate. -

Better they are still out and can't breed about than just continuing to breed like crazy. -

As a gardener myself, I reckon your garden must be looking pretty terrible by now anyway, can't have much time for it if you're always inside complaining about cats. -

Absolutely! Unfortunately my cat does his business in my garden. He makes sure to seek out my favourite flowers and everything. -

I always find I think differently about people with litter boxes in their house permanently. How repulsive, even when clean they're still dirty looking. -

Do people have that much spare time? I instantly feel better knowing my life isn't that sad. Thank you Ira. -
Ray is really only good for a pillow.

Saw this and had to share it with my fellow fishos...

Spent way too long reading the comments, I was unsure if I felt angry and annoyed, or a lot smarter. -

You just described mine, who has a taste for blackbirds. I have just used the last of my collection of cat bells because he manages to leave them somewhere, so i'm going to have to go and buy more. I wonder if 6 weeks of feral upbringing has something to do with it. I'd love to keep him inside, but I refuse to have a litter tray for 20 years (gross), and when he is inside he will meow and go wild and crazy until he is allowed out, he lasted two days when I moved house before I let him run free. He's always inside at night though. I really don't like cats much at all, they make me sneeze and they're fairly useless, can't walk them, can't play fetch, but I love my little Ray the Stray, the accidental kitty. He might be my last, he might not. I actually managed to read this whole thread because I think it's hilarious how worked up some people can get starting with one silly mans opinion, and something that I highly doubt will happen in my lifetime. -
Woah I haven't been on here in ages! But I thought I would because I took my little dog in to town to see my friend and watch the parade for our Olympians, then after he survived bagpipes and loud noises I thought we should go for a run around the lake. I saw a couple of koi, 3 massive goldfish and when you look out over the lake on one of the paths up the hill you can see a bunch of huge Rudd chasing each other around in the shallow area under the trees. All pests I know, but my inner fish geek made me watch them for ages! I also saw ducklings and I got super excited! I love spring! :happy1:

I've been experiencing similar things, only with imports, my plain old guppies are doing well. It's so frustrating because I love guppies, and they're supposed to be "beginner fish"! This is part of the reason I hardly keep any fish anymore, it's too upsetting when you lose them.

Who watches Tanked on Animal Planet on Mondays at 10:30 ?
Stephanie replied to mcrudd's topic in The Off Topic Fishroom
I record it. My mother, who has always thought fish were super lame, loves it. We were in Hamilton the other day and popped in to Goldfish Bowl and suddenly the marine tanks were exciting to her haha. -
It's hardly a bad choice. I was worried about getting my dog fixed so I dragged it out for awhile, but believe me, when you come across a dog on heat and your happy little dog turns into a horrible nasty thing, you'd be booking an appointment so fast! Within 24 hours of getting the chop I had my precious little dog back - amazing. Don't feel bad, dogs are pretty forgiving animals! My poor dog has forgiven me after damaging my foot enough to not be able to walk him for a month, finally went yesterday! Thankfully some smart canine invented fetch! Hope you feel better soon - at least you have a super cute puppy to cuddle. I always find when you're feeling down dogs make far better companions than people - they don't ask questions and they love you regardless!
-
Some random app on my phone to lighten it up a little, was way too dark and turning the lights on makes my poor dog realise i'm taking more photos of him and he doesn't like to admit he's in madly love with the cat so he moves.

They're kinda freaky looking. Crossing my fingers they grow nicely!

I bought 50 adult guppy fry on Trademe the other day. Picked them up, can definitely see how it can get confusing, they're maybe 2-3 weeks old, all grown up.  AAAAANND since this seems to have turned in to a cat thread, here's rescue kitty and my dog having a little sleep last night. She loves him way too much, she's still insane but when she sleeps I suddenly start thinking I could easily have 10 more!
-
So I learnt that albinos are quite sensitive compared to my others, i've somehow lost a male and a female. But last night I changed the water and my four adults starting going crazy about an hour later. I am now a proud grandmother to 13 albino guppy fry. :happy2:

Learnt why I shouldn't have the internet on my phone ever, managed to buy 50 guppies on Trademe while walking to the library on a lazy Saturday morning. Ooops. So tomorrow I guess i'm going to be rearranging some fish to make room in my big tank. Not a bad first weekend off in months. Yay!!
