  1. Doesn't look like a convict at all to me. :dunno: Isn't it just a white parrotfish instead of the usual orange?? Not a convict at all. :dunno:
  2. Thanks! But when you think about it there's not that many really. A few tanks full of fish, a dog and a mouse. I want to get everything down in one trip because I am possibly the most impatient person in the world. And when we get there I want to get everything sorted at once, not keep coming and going which might not be possible for awhile depending on work.
  3. I'm not a legend like you! Haha! I want to get up early and bag everyone, drain everything then pack because I simply cannot be bothered mucking around at the other end of the trip since we can't call in help from fishy people. Maybe i'm just lazy lol. Apart from 30ish fighters and their babies the rest of the fish should be easy enough to bag up. I'm super glad I don't have tetras at the moment. The catching part is always the worst! Three hours is still three hours when you have to set up a house too. Fish are minor details.
  4. Easier to just throw them in a trailer with everything else. We're obviously gonna have to take a bed and all our stuff so it should be possible to wedge them in. They're not huge tanks so hopefully they'll be fine!
  5. I think that might be the way to go. Maybe once we move so we can take glass instead of a whole tank! The wait might kill me though. I'm too excited for our possible guppy/molly/swordtail/platy tank!
  6. Pass. It's 5 hours there and back without glass tanks haha. Would like to get them all there in one day. Thanks Ryan and Zayne!
  7. I've been reading up on this while we prepare our move to Taupo. It seems bubble wrap and poly are quite possibly the way to go, but alot of the threads are people moving locally, apart from Ryans massive move up here! We have: 3 x 3 foots 6 x 2foots A bazillion little tanks under 40l which should be easy to wrap up. And a couple of others not much bigger than 2foot. Should I just wrap and tape the hell out of them and cross my fingers? My plan is to get the 2 foots setup to house all the fish for a week or so until the larger tanks can be setup again. They just need to be ok to shove in a truck and arrive safely 2 or 3 hours later.
  8. So the plan is to put back together a four foot tank now we've pulled it apart (cracked bottom). Now i'm always keen for a bit of DIY but not so much a disaster. The plan is to have 4 compartments for livebearer growouts. :happy2: I've checked old threads, people recommend all sorts of different brands, and now i'm simply confused. Has anyone made a reasonably big tank and what silicone would you recommend. I've been using the glass silicone from Bunnings for small tanks but it does say that it's not great for large tanks. I've decided it's easier to just ask again because i'm driving myself mad. Sorry! Thanks!
  9. Tank at the moment. Yes if you go tropical! These guys are super cool!
  10. You would end up getting the half dozen or so cannibal minnows in the world. :dunno:
  11. Just to correct you, mountain minnows aren't egg eaters, they scatter eggs and forget about them. Moss is just good to collect food for the fry. Hence we have hundreds of thousands. :happy2: You can have some if you want.
  12. Well hopefully we'll have crowntail spawns you can look at if you're in Taupo one day. They're my favourite type. :happy1:
  13. Try crushing up the food you feed your big fish. He'll be fine.
  14. I wouldn't expect anything less of you Joshua my little emo. :happy2:
  15. Picture number 2 is glorious.
