Cool thanks, they've finished spawning now. He's guarding the nest, but I very much doubt there's many, if any eggs in it. Strange fish. Might give him one more chance in a couple of weeks and try that if he does it again. It would typically be the best looking fighter that turns out to be the egg killer. :roll:

I have this very very nice orange crowntail I posted on here a few months back, he is one of the nicest looking fighters I have ever seen, and I bought him with every intention of breeding him and getting some good looking babies. However, Mr. Orange decides that he likes the taste of eggs every time. I've spawned him three times now. He is the perfect fish, he doesn't chase his woman much, never ever takes pieces out of her fins like my others, but as soon as she is ready and they start spawning he gets overly keen, picking up all the eggs like he should, then he grabs her again and they start over. He doesn't spit the eggs into the nest! Has anyone else had this happen? You'd think I'd starved him before I put him in the tank! It's frustrating, i've just been watching him spawn as I write this, with my newest crowntail female, who's dropping alot of eggs now. Advice would be appreciated, or Mr. Orange is going to have to live out his days in his own little bachelor pad. :roll:

I just happen to have a few packets of that stuff sitting in my room (geek?) and the labels do say non toxic, but do you think anything could leak into the water? It's probably actually cheaper to buy them or use coconuts or something than to use that stuff.

They're alive. Still can't count them. I want them to hurry up and get big they're a week old now!

I've cut down from a pack a day, so it's still bad but not that bad. I'd personally take my own sanity over a 6ft tank. After an hour of sitting by myself in the bar waiting for customers I have come to to conclusion people are thinking twice. I'd usually have heaps of people by now!

My morning V cost me $4.50 today instead of $4, that's the only thing i've noticed about prices so far. A pack of Marlboro Reds 25s still cost me $15.70, secretly thrilled about that even though it is still stupidly expensive. I work at a pub so i'll guess i'll find out when I open the doors in 10 minutes if everything going up in price slows down drinking and gambling at all. Might be able to read my magazine.

I used to live with one, a real live mermaid. Take some shrimp on the weekend? I feel like we have more than enough, and i'd rather you took some from us than go get more.

You could have bought the tank when they closed down. Maybe we should just legally adopt you? Can sit you in the pub with a lovely pink lemonade, you can drive us home, we'd take you shrimping on the weekend if you behave. We'd be awesome parents. You can probably have some shrimp.

Lol. I pop in once in awhile for cooking stuff (asian food is the best after all), and they have great lollies, but next time I will pay more attention to the seafood section. Madness.

Mr. Blue is about 6 or 7 months now, guess we'll see how fast his fry grow and try spawn them young. I'm after an orange female to keep for myself. I want to know what colour they'll be already. I can't wait haha.
