comparing the black silicone on my juwel tank to the clear silicone on my nz made tanks: the black silicone frames the viewing panels as has already been said, and it's so cleanly done it looks like a machine did it. If the black had been done the same way as the normal nz made ones are, it would look rough. I think only get black if you can be assured of a perfect finish, not a smudgy 1cm line of silicone down each side of the glass.

I suspect you could swap the fertilisers around - flourish excel once a week and flourish comp every day. That's what Jennifer recommends to me, I'm following it at present and my plants are doing pretty well.

I was going to get 2 licorice gourami but I thought that if the rasbora breed then the eggs will get eaten. It would be so cool to have fry from these minifish. I have a supply of rainwater that they will get on their first water change next week so here's hoping. The end of the video where they are playing in the current is what some of them seem to do all day. There are usually a few relaxing elsewhere or picking about in the back leafy corner. The first 2 thirds of the video was taken after the lights had been off so they weren't very active. The tank also came out looking much bluer than it normally does so I will try to get some more photos to show their colours.

I went back to HFF and bought the rest of the mosquito rasbora. Now I have 22 :happy1: also found a bit of oak twig that looks like a huge branch in the tank :cofn:
