I expect it's too late for the sick ones all round, as I waited till they were extremely thin before treating, just in case the change of scenery, bigger filter etc gave an improvement. I've never seen a Mr Skinny return to health after being that thin. Which wafers do you think I should get? I use Hikari sinking wafers, and Wardley shrimp pellets as well as their other foods.

I meant that I wasn't sure that carbon dioxide bubbles like that was a natural state for most fish to live in all the time. never mind :cofn:

Crypts are good in this tank, they grow and don't melt, except when I move them but I expect that. Now they are getting fertilised too. When we put the oak twig in the tank it looked so much better, like it had been missing something all along. It seems to bring a layer of depth that wasn't there before even the previous layout was also good.

flourish excel once a week with water change. flourish comp 1-3 times a week as I remember. I was recommended to dose daily however.

Joe, that is a very profound quote and will offend plenty of christians but I tend to agree with you.

Some crypts are dying off a bit because of the rearrangement but I am sure they will spring back soon enough.

I started fertilising more regularly and this tank has greened up well and lots of new growth (Jennifer told me so!). I now have 2 small barthii swords that seem to be doing OK and the parviflorus sword is also putting out more leaves. left side of the tank - see the single red leaf in the middle behind the rock? It seems to be a crypt that was in here wayyyy back maybe 2 years ago, I think it was walkerii, one of my first ones from Supasi. It popped up over the weekend and has doubled in size over a week. I wonder if it will keep on living. This is the tank where crypts just mysteriously died even with lots of ground ferts and then I gave up and put them in the other tank.

On Tuesday I wormed this tank and the 2 skinny loaches took a turn for the worse the same night. One of the skinny ones has disappeared and the other is fading away. This is where one of them has spent much of the week, or nestled in bit of bolbitis.

it looks like it's raining in the tank, is cool am not sure it's natural all the time though?

In one of my older tanks I found it only grew on leaves that were directly under the light, so if you can move it to a darker area of the tank, or to be shaded by something else then it might help.
