1 of my killiefish eggs with eyes now has a tail that wiggled, while the other egg is still looking at me ... I don't have any brine shrimp so I plan on feeding the tiniest of golden pearls and green water when their egg sacks are gone. Shall I move them into another box inside the main tank with tank water or shall I move them into the net box? and just to make a note here, I have 9 peppered cory eggs waiting to hatch in a box inside the riverbed tank... see thread for more info.... exciting times for me :bounce:

People attribute fish with human emotional traits they do not possess. It's natural to them to be living in the wild and all the danger that goes with it. It's not natural that we put them in a secure environment and give them names and processed food but we still do it. :cofn:

How can you advise someone to start the tank again and yet still be asking questions about the cause of the problem? Dana, it seems to me that there is 'something in the water' or rather a combination of water plus nutrients you are unable to control, rather than anything you are doing wrong. Before you throw the whole lot out, perhaps consider setting up another tank, or even just a container of water and see what happens so you have something to compare to.... it would be a shame to start all over again and then find the same thing happens.

sounds good for a nano tank with little or no fertiliser where you change very little of the water hardly ever too

harvested 9 eggs total, they are languishing in a container with a little meth blue floating in the top of the tank :bounce:

My usual run is between 5 and 7, the furthest I've run ever is 14.5 I thought doing 9 for a change would push my limit again :roll:

These are the instructions I use, from Jennifer: the dosage of aviverm is 1ml per 100L if you know for sure it's worms, if not use 1ml per 150L. Leave it for 24 hours with no lights, then do a gravel vac worth 25-40% of the water, then do a smaller vac over the next few days. if it's sand you could just stir up the bottom but not actually vac the sand. When my 2 loaches were super skinny after they changed homes I used 1 per 100L and they went down hill and disappeared. It didn't do anything for the CPDs that were wasting so that could have been TB but I will never know.

Levamisole is sold as a bird wormer because it's a wormer. And mostly used for birds. It works for both. Same like Drontal brand name (fenbendazole) is sold for cattle and furry pets but also still works for fish. You just need to know the dosage because the vet most likely won't tell you because they don't work on fish much.

I noticed that on the old layout my photos would get to 99% uploaded and then not get any further. I had to click on the photo to continue to get to the page with the IMG code. Went to the new layout, it worked fine. Went back to the old layout and it went back to doing it. The other thing I don't understand is why if I rotate my camera to take a photo, if I save it the right way up on my PC and then upload it to PB, it uploads it the way it was before rotation. I fixed it once but then I changed something else, and now it's gone back and I can't fix it again. :an!gry

aviverm is the bird wormer, it's the brand name for levamisole.

aviverm is what it's called up here Jaide, Furan is an antibacterial medicine, only for certain sorts of bacteria too
