  1. cool never mind him above
  2. what I meant was that the mosquito seem to be smallest available in the shop but according to the Axelrod encyclopaedia they don't stay the smallest when they are grown.... if it's a teeny tiny one you were after then the dwarf rasbora is apparently the smallest. But the teeny ones are very sweet. I would like to get some of both but apparently you can't mix them in case they cross breed.
  3. Sorry, mine are dwarf rasbora but the mosquito rasbora that are around must be very tiny ones as they apparently get bigger than the dwarves.
  4. Nah I reckon leave it alone, it in the overall scheme it's still a good tank. Photos always look a bit flatter than real life. To create more depth for a front-on shot there would need to be more of an illusion of scale, so there'd have to be more smaller plants at the front and all the tall crypts moved back but with all your ferts n stuff there isn't much that will stay small. You could perhaps move the hydrocotyle and the other long leafed plant in the middle to the back but it's really just splitting hairs in my opinion. In short, you like planted tanks and that's what you've got. In double short maybe you could take the photo from a lower angle or from a corner so it's on a bit of diagonal and then we can see more of the depth that way instead. Might work, might not.
  5. Thames coastline is where I got the little grey ones that you took. I got a couple of big ones from Orere Point beach and my husband broke them up for me so I could use both sides as humps. Those ones are different shades and there are some pics of them in my thread near the end. I have some photos of them in my thread, they are great, I have 7.

  12. Ooh, also how about black or blue background, mossy feathery plants over a gravel base, a school of white cloud mountain minnows - they will/should breed and can do without a heater in summer I believe. The lights will bring out their sparkle. HFF have some long finned ones (marked sold) but they might be able to get more. Also they have some golden ones which are very pretty too. Golden pencils also very nice.

    Corydoras

These were the peppered corys I had in my first tank. I notice now when looking through the photos that they didn't go pale on the silica sand.
