  1. haha OK, just for you :slfg: When I had 5 loaches they were so active and busy that they were the main feature, that's who you would see swimming about if you sat down to watch Fish TV. So once everything is settled I will be happy with more of them without a feature fish. We will see however, when my masterpiece is finished, not burning my bridges yet

    This or that

you stalled it :nilly: Tim Minchin rabbit pie or smoked eel?
  3. sorry, no photos yet, I took some tonight but it's too silty and the rocks aren't in their final positions. Am getting more crypts on Thursday from L'Obstacle too, plus I'm adding more black sand for a cleaner look. At present it's a mix of all the sands I've had in there with a sprinkling of gravel. It must be near perfect before I show the world! Stocking at present is the same, 7 rasbora, 4 loaches, 1 shrimp. Am thinking I will get another 3 loaches and maybe another 3 rasbora, depending on funds and prices. I think your lighting is fine for loaches and if the plants are happy that's cool too. I was just saying it didn't sound overly bright so that couldn't be an excuse for the loaches hiding. Mine are stlll a bit hidey tonight, exploring their new caves and waiting for me to get my fingers out of there for a while.
  4. more dwarves, anything bigger would look silly in my little tank
  5. if I win I will have to give back my prize as I don't reeealy want one, as cute as they are. I would still TRY to win though, because I am a bad loser :sml2:
  6. 15 watts doesn't sound a lot for a big tank like that. Mine is 7watts and was 22 litres, now about 38 ish. I will get them some more buddies next pay day :happy1:
  7. Yep they do. Last night when they were moved from the chilly bin into the tank even though it was pretty cloudy they were all and the rasbora skimming about in the current like seals, it was very cute. I also have the current up to full bore while it cleans the silt so it's extra exciting for them. :gigl:
  8. no prob but if you want to come with me and let me know about half an hour before I have to leave that's fine too
  9. I'm in Royal Oak so can pool with anyone from Central-ish or on the way through. Last time I went via Mt Roskill/Blockhouse Bay way so can pick up anyone on the way or not too far off. Or someone can pick me up too hehe :happy2:
  10. It takes a while to get back to normal after time off, just take it a bit easy and don't push yourself with too many weights.
  11. so for the last 2 weeks or so there have been 2 fry residing in the top level of the tank, now starting to go for adult food. Not sure what happened to the ones I sucked up in the water change though. Then this evening I found Fry 3 :bounce:
  12. it would be worse if we did not sit together as I would make faces at her. If anyone wants to carpool please PM me.
  13. Tonight's update - no photos yet. The water was cloudy but workable this afternoon but by the time I'd finished was cloudy again. The filter wool had sucked up HEAPS of silt so have replaced it with another one. The original filter sponges are tucked away in a corner. The cloudy water is quite cool as it looks very natural when occasionally a fish swims past but I will be glad when I can see inside again. Then I have to add more black sand and rocks which I will save doing till the weekend. Dear Crypts, please don't melt tooo much
  14. I would be deliiiiriously happy if we had the meeting at your house again (just saying... now I run for cover) :digH:
  15. I would join if you had the meetings at Miranda hot pools :cofn:
  16. Yep they should be good tankmates, they are peaceful get more nutty the more of them you have.
  17. I think at least some of the gold stuff is silt/clay - after humping my little load from one tank to the other there is so much silty stuff in what was rinsed clean I can only assume some of the so called sand was not sand. I still like it anyhoo
  18. hey those upside down catfish are hilarious! I am waiting for you to set up that other tank you had in your fish room :spop:

    The What's Up? thread.

haven't heard of St Lukes but across the road from Sylvia Park is a new bit being built and it says Animates on the side, among other stores.
