Unless you have won lotto or have easy access to lots of cash, just upgrade your car. I have always had cars 15-20 years old+ through lack of cash and it would not be unusual to have to spend $300-$500 to get it through a warrant, even with doing many fixes at home. 2 vehicles means 2 wof and reg to pay for and 2 lots of fixit bills. Unless you can borrow a car when you need to take the girlfriend out or buy big stuff, then a motorbike is the most economical of course. And the coolest. And the deadliest.

Back one with old loach cave has had a big hole drilled in the side for a bigger hidey spot, angled so I can snoop on the cuteness. New piece of driftwood added on the left with lots of anubias nana. Another cave underneath that goes all the way under and out the other side. Added some more rocks to the centre and round the edges to give plants stability. Used more pea gravel underneath the top layer of sand, as it comes through to the top it looks more natural than just sand. Lots more crypts of various kinds dotted around. Will see what remains after any melting. Other than that I’ve tried to keep the layout and fittings as similar to previous as possible so it could be a low budget/less fish stress upgrade. It’s not just the photo quality that makes it look sort of blackwater-ish, there is still a fair bit of silt on the leaves and wood and the water isn’t completely clear yet. The new wood is leaching some tannin in the water too. I anticipate 1 more fish death as the less skinny loach is not getting fatter after all. More loaches to come on payday.

those conchu blue tetra are very pretty, and the emperor tetra too. Also tonight I saw some very yellow lemon tetra which look very nice too, :spop:

Pikes Point transfer station is where our rubbish goes I think, those guys are pretty helpful if you ring first. There is also a cardboard box outside one of my neighbour's front door that they don't seem to want to pick up that you can have if it's still there next week hahahaha
