peat as in the stuff you can buy as a bale at the garden centre or Bunnings. If you can find old style Jiffy Pellets with no fertiliser I think they are good too, Barrie used to use those. Jiffy 7s have fert in there though, I've never found the old styles ones personally.

cories swimming about is cute. Some of them do act like this, I think some species more than others. I had some peppered cories that used to do it when the room was full of sunlight but they would stop when the tank light was on. :rotf:

Wowsers that is a big kahawai. We caught one or two that big that broke our lines after a good fight a couple of summers ago. I prefer to catch kahawai than snapper, they are more fun.

I have found these razors very effective in removing scale if used gently. They are flexible and very thin and bend before they scratch. I used a couple of layers of masking tape to cover one side of the blade to make it safe.
