  2. There are some good photo threads on making tank backgrounds if you have a search, or have a scroll through DIY as that is where I think most of them are :smln:
  3. Back from the Night market, forgot to have chocolate there too.... what am I DOING?! :nilly:
  4. It's Easter and I haven't had any chocolate yet - how can that be? I must be going crazy :nilly:

  7. posting this thread has done a good job in scaring me off the idea again :sml2:
  8. and this is a big IF... suppose I got 1 tank that was about 90cm x 30x30 - approx 81 litres...or something up to 90L.. could I just put both my 45L eheim pickups in there? Space and eyesores aside, might that work to phase in what would be (for me) a costly exercise by the time I bought bigger tank, more substrate and a new light fitting? I think 1 external filter would likely be better in the long run. Any thoughts?
  9. I think it's that pen like thing on the left, looks like you could squash fleas with it :slfg:

    Hi from Kapiti

welcome.... we will wait patiently for your addiction to take hold... won't be long now...
  11. rainwater is yummy to drink, almost sweet. I'd switch back to that over city water any day, though I don't miss running out in summer. I lived on tank water for 8 years and though I can't see straight and my face is covered in blotches, there is nothing wrong with me
  12. And don't forget good old Auckland Zoo and Western Springs  are you going to have a car or are you using public transport?

  17. +1 for Leigh - hire a wetsuit and you can stay in for ages. A bit cold this time of year without one.

I started by doing a bit of driving around in a huge automatic cortina with no power steering first then continued learning in a mini. Even though it was pretty heavy to drive the automatic was good to start in as I learned a bit about steering and getting used to the road without having to learn how to work the gearbox and pedals at the same time.
  19. Kelly Tarltons is probably small town fun compared to somewhere like Bangkok but I think it's still great. I went recently and spent about 3 hours there, though that included an hour in and around the shark cage experience.
