  10. 99% Ox heart 1% H2o Remove fat, slice ox heart Into strip or chuck dice Drain out as much blood as you can before serving fish. Tips of the week: Feed once or twice a week only, do mince Ox heart if you want to do a water change in the next following day.
  11. "Holy smoked! I got freak out on this this quote! I though it came back from fish heaven after it was dead.. Male jag are easy to find but female is some time abit precious..
  12. Good luck on trying to get some, this greedy guy i know brought the whole lots from both store.. they are pretty long looking fish, bigger and better than guppies, im planning to get some as feeder fish yum yum form my fish tummy..
  13. I like this topic :bounce: Last time me n Duncan were Trying to get some infos off him, and i also try to invite him into this forum for a further discussion regards to his red Texas.. To be honest it's his right not to give u guy the identification of the offspring parents..it's meant to be a secret of the trade :slfg: From what I believe is that he only success in crossing his Texas with another red fish! Could be a midas/rd or Bp, I doubt that he would have a female festae in hand.. The only people I know who got female festae at current is me and GAO.. That our secret weapon for now :slfg: :slfg: Anyway for a true super red Texas from what I have read from forums, you would have to dedicate at least couple of generation inbreeding to get the colour right.. From what I also seen when crossing Texas with eg. Bp, the grown up offspring is looking so retard with still carring the deep green blue of a Texas.. But only a small percentage say 10 out 100 will have a fade tone mixed colour..and that do make sense if you know how to work out the your punet square. Just ask yourself a simple question: if red Texas are easy to be breed, then why is it hard to get hold of one? Most flowerhorn fan love super red Texas, they do pay some big $$ to get a nice looking one.. Conclusion: the guy on trademe do have a head start of making red Texas but its just a F1 fader Texas, He do not have red Texas parents at all in hand, so there for that fish on trade me is just a fader and its not a true red Texas!
  14. with true super Texas you would be lucky to score it for $200 from oversea.. bottom line is that guy think he got it red :slfg: but until we see he super red texas parents the my only guessing is he only in the first of stepping stone in the making of SRT. anyway very good on him to kick start this SRT project here in NZ.
  15. Dam!!! Sorry for the lost of your loving fish bro.. I was feeling down too for weeks when my monster Midas drop too.. I put him in the freezer for now, my planning is to taxidermy any Loving fish I ever kept!
  16. Very Interesting project I see u got a bit of collection in the back wall..by any chance u would some if those shrunken head warrior hanging?
  17. Another twisted tales :slfg: Got some fry from my Midas x parrot.. Any1 reckon offspring will be short body with large hump? Or if parrot baby will grow out larger than it usual size? I know I won't be getting full shape parrot.. my main goals was to see if the offspring male is fertile later on!
  18. Tank Stand" too cheap! From Bunning warehouse Pallet racking powder coating medium heavy duty grade from .900-1.800H work out under $200!! Ideal for tank 900, 1.2,1.8m... Cheap option i reckon, instead of getting a stand made!
  19. 3k tank  calling..calling Mr> Brain.T he the man for that size of tank!! personal im thinking 1.2 in height is too deep! i can see you are more taller than me but even with my tank at .900 you still wouldnt have a good chance reaching the bottom with your fingers.:slfg: last time i was over Brain .T his tank panel was custom made @ +20mm glass i think! you going to make it out of ply sheets! it can be done, but too much work & bracing invole i think.. have you consider ply for structure and maybe going on the safe and cheaper water proofing it with 8-10mm internal float? i wouldnt be using paintable water proofing memberaine for the tank! it will leak in long term. Resin coat is tough and ok too..but work involve.. as for tank stand :sml1: iam struggling to fit in a sump for stand height @ .400, so if you were going for 1.2 deep + STAND i can imagine you once again climbing on that long ladder again.. :sml1: I would difinately try to design attachable sump on one side or better on both side on the tank.. "say another detachable tank hard up againt the side with a glass panel overhang over it for overflow water..
  20. dont we all make mistake? its old school, but they seem to know what they are doing. i crack up when the guy shake the female catfish :slfg: trying to squeeze the last drop of the lemon
  21. I love these guy! been watchin over n over again when i get bored i think the loaches are done in the same way at the farm.. enjoy watching WARNING contain some distrubing graphic!
  22. isnt the two option the same or its getting late i cant see the different here?
  23. In the past 3 years i have read afews things about hybrids..in my person thought i do love seeing creation of hybrids, :smln: I do except keeper should not release something like we see here eg. jag x convict" there is no unique looking in them! as for Midas x red devil, to behonest I have never seen a real midas nor pure red devil! who ever the first person to release them into the market is a real egg! :an!gry crossbreeding fish looking similar i totally against eg. cuban x jag! i have them but i never intend to try because i am more concern the senario of midas/red devil! The flowerhorn" the fact i love to try is to creat something unique and different! things with flowerhorn making is breeder arent really sure of the total out come after the second or third greneration offspring! the fact is after the result of 2nd 0r third generation the breeder may still not satify with his product then he wil try to outcross breeding it with another species to try achieving it form, colours, pattern! Its a great goal to be achieve! just like the EBJD, totally in-line breeding and that final product is looking real hot till now! The out-crossing different types of fish" in my opinoin, if it look nice and unique it a keeper for me! Not many people oversea cnanot keep their hands off the Super red Texas" jagxfestae, bonsai parrot.. In natural habitate their shall be purity, in-house aquarium i think it great to be creative! Culling" its not so hard to do really, boil your kettle and way they go!
  24. Howddi David" that is a nice piece of work you got there ..i love the fact that the timber is tanning looking! would it stay like that in water condition in long term? I pickup my big piece frm stone waterworld, but time go it seem to looking soft and brittle! ohh boy i getting the feeling iam going to chop down one tree on one Hill now hahahh :nilly: its called the neutral balance in our life" i remind myself as a good position because when youre sinking deep the wife is there to pull you out! :happy1: thxs god for making women, and thxs my parent for making me! :slfg:
