  1. My albino sen is growing very quickly! Always hated the albinos, but love them now, very very active. If you need somewhere to grow out small bichirs I have room
  2. How about swapping the del for: A magnet scubber, a 25w heater, and some keyhole cichlid fry  Hope the birchirs settle in nicely. I might get some more senegals, or change the 4ft to a 5ft so I can have an ornate.
  3. I wanted the Del! please please frasier ill part ex for my little 4'' del... lol  I dont have the cash otherwise i wouldve bought your IT! Speaking of which, do you still have?
  4. Always having some spare filter sponges or a bag of spare bio noodles in an existing filter helps too - you never know when you might need to set up a new tank, and existing media makes everything so much better! cant remember the last time I had anything but a mini cycle!
  5. Im currently bidding on a 30cm Ornate and a 20cm Delhezi on trademe. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 295899.htm I want the Del but dont a big enough tank for an ornate, and the guy wont separate them. Anyone interested and want to go halves on the pair or something? Cheers, -Pete
  6. He surely means banks? Banking is good. Wish id tried to go that direction. My partner works for HSBC and is climbing nicely.
  7. Mine cost $31usd including delivery, off ebay. its hardback, 205 lovely pages, beautiful pictures, tonnes of info. It makes me want to sell all my fish and become an aquatic gardener.
  8. I just recieved my copy. Oh my god, what a fantastic book. Tells you everything you would ever want/need to know about plants and more Anyone else got a copy? If you dont, and you are reasonably serious about plants, you NEED this book! http://www.amazon.com/Encyclopedia-Aqua ... 0764155210
  9. they could have some native species there, or even introduced species.
  10. Van was the only character on set on tuesday (and some little blonde hottie ive never seen before)
  11. See my thread: I had it step by step of the setup and equipment ect.. that I used. http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=41180 and sams thread also (cant be bothered finding the link) of nano planted tank projects
  12. Ok that aside, I found some figures. In ACC's Injury Statistics 2008 report (http://tr.im/BV1k) ACC details claims against the Motor Vehicles account - the virtual pool that gets claimed upon whenever a road-registered vehicle is involved in an accident. The report gives statistics for the number of new claims, the number of active claims and the cost of those claims. As the report breaks down the claims by vehicle type, it's easy to compare the cost of claims: Cyclists: - 567 active claims - $12,573,000 - $22,174 per claim Pedestrians: - 1115 active claims - $24,494,000 - $21,967 per claim Car Occupants: - 8525 active claims - $208,305,000 - $24,434 per claim Motorcyclists: - 3173 active claims - $62,523,000 - $19,704 per claim
  13. It didnt, but I once had a bike that cost me a mere $6000 of which I saw a top speed of 280kph on the track, and genuine 10 second runs at meremere. how much would a car need to cost to get comparitive performance!
  14. a tick box when we pay rego im cool with, tick the box if you want ACC cover (and you pay for it) or dont tick the box, dont get ACC cover, and dont pay for it.
  15. Whys that? Your not a boy racer are you? Embrassed about your $50k car being beaten easily of the lights by a $5k bike?
  16. which surely is below the safety factor for 350kg...
  17. I disagree with your point. High performance bikes tend to be safer if in the hands of an experienced rider - they turn better, better suspension, better brakes etc.. The only two bikes I have never crashed/dropped in any way, minor or major, have been the two most powerful. I have private medial insurance btw, so I dont rape the ACC funds.
  18. You dont understand I had 3 bikes - one was a high performance track bike, one was a classic 'dunger' for commuting, and the other was my general weekend road bike for touring. Its like trying to choose one car that you can use for getting to work, offroading, transporting 7 people, and moving furniture - so a holden berina? landcruiser? hi-ace? there isnt one that will do everything and do it well
  19. This really annoys me. Earlier this year I owned 3 x 600cc bikes - total rego wouldve been 1800+ per year! now down to one but just bought another. We are going to be protesting against this BIG TIME! The problem is, other high risk people like cave divers, cyclists, rugby players etc.. dont pay ANYTHING except the small % from income tax.
  20. the scratches are on either end rather than the front or back. my back is so darkly tinted youd never see the fish if i turned it around
  21. you sure? I mean, scratches are a weakness is glass, just like when glass cutting, you simply score it then then break it... and when a tank is full of water, its under a lot of pressure note: I have a tendancy to be paranoid
  22. Toothpaste didnt really work  If the scratches can only only just be felt with a finger nail, is the glass going to be in jeopardy? considering there are about 4 full length scratches on both ends?
