Its a promotion given to the company by the food manufacturer - there is a rottweiler specific food, and its never sold too well - i think the promotion was to get people using the food, as well as shifting short dated stock (due to it not being popular)

there is no 3ft! it all got transferred into a bigger tank (again!) Looking crystal clear. running purigen and phosgard in the filter now. diatom algae is subsiding. Stocking is currently a pair of tiny ocellaris and a skunk cleaner shrimp.

Look up how much you can get just the glass body for aquaone 620's.... a 620T especially would be really nice, rimless, with a T5 GLO unit mounted on top.

Get premium food. My BTs loved Hills Tinned dog food. its a complete diet so really good for them. downside is the cans are quite big and the food goes off quicker than you can use it, even if you stick it in the fridge and seal the can. Hills tinned cat food might be worth a go, smaller tins too. Tried fancy feast, bought like 30 cans and they wouldnt touch it. 1 tin is a perfect bowl amount, so maybe pick up a few and try them. Get extra bananas for them. They just love a bowl of banana occaisionally! NOM NOM!

I thought its more the motion sensitive thing. Both beardies and blueys ive found will drink water dripping down the sides of the glass, purely because its moving so they notice it. still water they probably dont know is there unless they are in it?

Its not a big chunk at all - otherwise im sure there would be specialist reptile stores - but one of the main reasons for that im sure is that we are only allowed a whole 5 types of reptiles or something. Unlike the UK where they have pretty much everything.

its not just snakes, would rather be able to have Iggys and chameleons but noooo not allowed. Dont see how they are much different to Beardies or Blueys tbh

Yeah, my ammonia and nitrate readings had been low for some time - hard to tell if 0 or just above. HFF tested my water also and said its pretty good to go. Will be getting another baby clown and leaving it for a few weeks. Then its a trip to wonderworld

Pictoral update. Picked up one of the small Ocellaris from HFF yesterday. Will get another on monday. Skimmer is pulling some skim. Algae is crazy. Reduced lighting to 5 hours a day for a while. Waiting on my properly sized lid and phosphate removers.

Anyone know what compacts we can get in NZ? Im currently using the Exo Terra 26W repti glo, but they are only 5%. My BD surely isnt appreciating it. Exo terra do a 10%, in a 13w (all i need) as well as the 26W - BUT Petware dont bring them into the country. Im working on this but its going to take a bit of time. Just ordered some from the states, and they informed me that the bulbs are 110v (didnt realise this) so cant get them from there either. Only other one I know of is the Lucky reptile 10% UVB Compact supplied by Hothouse turtles, but at $100 a pop, no way. The exo terras are like $30 each. Any other ideas? I wont go back to using tubes.
