  1. yep - been there - done that know where you're coming from. hubby facing that now with the high end timber flooring i'm just a lowly paid teacher aide - support stuff get paid less than cleaners in some cases. I work hard with special needs and behavioural kids, and I mean HARD ! Am exhausted most days and have to go home and do planning in my OWN unpaid time.
  2. lol, I work in education. hubby in sales .
  3. we're with telstra clear.. they have some good combos that you can mix and match to suit your needs and the speed is good too. They are promising to absorb the gst increase as well but that really only equates to a few dollars. (we have everything with them)
  4. as the bill payer in my house, I've noticed everything goign up in price and that's even before the GST increase comes in. The tax cuts are just not going to cover the increased costs we've had to face this year.
  5. when I feed her she she dives to the bottom and waits for the food to fall instead of rushing to the top like most fish do! Lucky there's only three fish in her tank so she gets enough to eat. But weird aye.
  6. it called my son an "It" then LOLed at me and asked if we were BF and GF . haha
  7. oh I see. I think I was born around there somewhere.
  8. lol my son showed me cleverbot the other day. Too addictive for a boy who was supposed to be studying for senior exams so I made him get off.. then I had a sneaky turn lol.
  9. Welcome! where is Arch hill?
  10. at the moment he's in a 80L tank. Longer than it is high.
  11. My daughter and I are really enjoying our little half banded spiny eel. He's sooo cute and very friendly, he is quite active during the day and we find him all over the tank. His name is Skoda by the way and he eats bloodworms from our fingers and he/she recently discovered that guppy fry were food. It took him a few days but after tasting the first one , the rest were gone by the end of the day. We have been surprised and pleased with how interactive he is. here's some pictures from some of his hangout spots meet Skoda, he posed just for you! keeping an eye on things behind the driftwood hanging around yum yum, bloodworms peek-a-boo I wonder what is up there all clear this side and this side this is a nice 'tree' to sleep in that's where we often find him in the morning, resting in the Indian fern.
  12. you mean that emo looking mop that hides half his face? yep that is a fringe I guess though he's changing it to be longer at the sides so he can "coon" it.. (racoon stripes)
  13. When my hubby decided to get into a sales related job , he took out the ear stud for that reason. Ear stud is very tame and boring compared to todays fashions but he felt it would impact on his employability for a job that works with all sorts of people.
  14. I don't like them either. It was something my son had wanted for a very long time and for whatever reason were ultra important to him. He even wrote a long letter to us about it. So there were some strict conditions put in place for him to earn the right to have them and keep them! Sort of like a motivation to work hard at school. He thinks we're too strict but hey - he's wearing snakebites. I just hopes he grows out of the phase.
  15. facial piercings.. what school do you guys go to that allow it? My son has snakebites. what a mission to find the right clear ones.. couldn't find any the right length. now he just takes the end balls off to minimise the appearance. Got pulled up by the DP but dean had already approved. aggh what a mess.

    Help!

I have a splish splash as my Quarantine/hospital tank. the only thing I find is that they don't keep the heat in as well so the heater is on more often. On very cold nights some heaters will struggle. In winter I drape a towel over the top and that helps.
  17. The AR380 was my first tank and it served me well. I had a few guppies, a female fighter , some kuhlis and a BN. The AR380 is now my spare
  18. what are the shipping costs? unless I'm buying fish it might be more convenient to order products online!
  19. and tiny red contact lenses
  20. hmmm.. so fish who have had ich and recovered, would they have their own natural immunity ?
  21. yum char .. yummm! Does wok have a yum char restaurant here? I've been looking for a good one to go to but not sure where. Not into seafood so needs to be one with plenty of 0ther options.
  22. I have a question regarding bacteria supplements in general. The bacteria needs oxygen to suvive - yes? How does the bacteria survive when it's all bottled up? .. is there somesort of additive that oxygneates the liquid for them? I use TLC and it does seem to do it's job, though I can't measure this scientifically. In the bottlle are little brown floating bits.. is this the bacteria food? TLC has very low odour . Then somehting like stress zyme has a very strong odour so I am presuiming that different products actually use a different type of bacteria.. are these the same as what will grow naturally in the filter without additives.
