1200 x 400 x 400 mm, 192L. It's fast becoming my favourite tank of all time, very relaxing and natural.

Currently stocked with 3 GBA, 8 Corydoras habrosus and nearly 40 neon tetras. Planning on getting another 50-70 neons over time, does this tank need feature fish? I had an Angel in there for a bit which was cool but it kind of ruined the scale.

The crickets are chirping awfully loud in here. Where is everyone?
  4. I'm sure I suggested that in another post  Much better peace of mind with bought diffusers.
  5. I'm not sure what they're rated for but I can pump out enough to get a 4ft tank toxically misty through one so I think you'll be good.
  6. They're my favourite type of diffuser, I have a couple of them. It's an excellent way to get a nice, fine mist throughout the tank. Working pressure is quite high so troubleshooting is difficult but once they get going, they're perfect.
  7. Firstly you need a CO2 cylinder, it should cost around $250-$300 depending on where you get it from. Then you need to regulate the CO2 coming from the cylinder with a regulator. Ideally your regulator would be dual gauge with a solenoid, anything less will be cheaper but a much harder to use. After that comes the check valve, bubble counter (optional) and diffuser. I prefer to get my gear overseas but others have had their cheap imported equipment fail.
  8. Is there an HD source on this? At least 720p, preferably 1080p.
  9. More excellent photos, when is the book being published?
  10. 1 seems to suffice for small swords, just use your better judgement.
  11. Because a magic fairy came along and fixed the post

You know what we want :spop:
  13. Sand sifters and snails can help with that, or just use a coarser grain (1-3mm is nice).
  14. Agreed. I think in a working aquarium, fish waste is enough to feed the plants but if you're starting it without fish or you want outstanding results, it's best to put something down under the cap layer.

Ah, but would they be so desirable if they were so accessible?

Cheers Jack and Mark, much appreciated advice! What sort of support did yours have Mark?

It's been run like this before. I'm going to get a shelf cut for this stand before I fill the tank, I'll get a few 2x4s then to strengthen it.

Anyone here currently using a cinderblock stand? I'd be keen to hear from anyone who's got one, theory is one thing but experience is invaluable.
