  1. Does anyone have either of the above? By wild type I mean mostly dark black/blue with short fins and stocky body. Like this: http://www.oneworldinternetcafe.com/bet ... rivia.html
  2. What's wrong with snails P44? :-?
  3. Thanks but Mum doesn't like dogs, neither does te cat They kind of remind me of mice when they first get their fur but their eyes aren't quite open.
  4. I'd be more worried about an underwater cyclone
  5. I havent had good experiences with them either. Lovely fish, they were my first ever proper fish. Bought two males and two females for the three footer, I think ammonia, fighting and incorrect feeding killed them. Would love to get some more one day.
  6. Water too soft? Don't they need calcium/hard water for their shells?
  7. Good choice going planted I reckon. I've only been in the hobby for a nearly two years now so I can't say if it was different three years ago really. What's helped me is looking through tank journals, galleries and aquascaping contest entries. There are some really wicked planted tanks out there but I can't say I've seen many with MHs. I've got a hairgrass tank up at the moment, almost got it fully covered now. Only running one 6500k 23w CFL energy saver and DIY CO2. I too have been looking out for driftwood like that, the closest I've come is some stuff on the rocky Napier beach and it smells funny. :-? Good luck.
  8. Someone's just started a Riparium I believe... http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/tank- ... iment.html
  9. How come?! Planted is awesome! I have no other suggestions now
  10. Sounds like a plan! May I ask what are the dimensions of this aquarium?
  11. So what's this tank going to be?

diver21, nice hand you've got there  How big is thank tank? It'd be great if the blocks were a perfect size for my tank.
  13. That's three DAYS! Not two months! Congrats, you're hooked...
  14. Try search Riparium, it seems to be quite popular in the states. They're like paludariums but less permanent. The also use floating rafts and suction cup baskets to keep the roots in the water and the rest out. HTH
  15. Most cetainly, just keep it quite damp 8)
  16. I know it's been done so many times on international forums but not much/at all on here... IWAGUMI PLANTED
  17. I leave my water straight from the tap out for about an hour. My fish have never complained about that. I do about 1 WC a week total and I have 5 tanks, again, fish aren't complaining.

    Ok 3-4 Questions?

How else can you start a syphon?! :-?
  19. Isn't it all about the ego though?
  20. There's an FNZAS radio station?! 8) It starts with one tank but soon you'll see more fish you like and hence get more tanks. It's called MTS (Multiple Tank Syndrome) and to date, there's been no proven cure for it
  21. If it's the same as mine, it'll grow under 72w of T8 very well but for a much better price Doesn't grow on the plants which is mot excellent. 8)
  22. I have a Otto or two and they don't touch the stuff You should see the stuff growing on top of the interal filter! :bounce:
  23. I have heaps growing on my glass. Scraping it off the sides and front but leaving it on the back. Used to get it before I moved the tank too, looks wonderful. Who's going to hold back N1CK's hair while he spews?
