  1. Yes, I am OKAY with photoshop, there are better. I'll have a go at it now, wish me luck! :-?
  2. I might give it a go. But I'm always afraid that the female will get beaten too badly. Seems to work for the Thai though so here's the plan... -Bucket 30cm in diameter filled with 10-15cm of water (3-4L) -50w aquaone heater -Male Betta -Female Betta -Some floating plants -Cave for her to hide in Sound okay?
  3. I don't think he's THAT old, but he's not young either. He looks huge in comparison to my super delta boys and the girl too. I put her in a cup floating in his tank just now, he's charging around, flaring and dancing to her. Looks super wicked. He made her horizontal stress bars disappear. I'd like to breed them but I don't have a spare tank. Might try the Thai way, would a 9L bucket work? :-?
  4. Maybe, he might be a bit old?

    Rocks

Could I please have an I.D on these rocks? They're leftovers from my Uncles house, used for a rock feature post/beam. I think they're some sort of schist, but I'd like confirmation and where I could get some more. Also, anyone know of any places to get cool, unique rocks? Rock 1 Rock 2 Rock 3 Rock 3 on it's other side I have a fourth rock like these but it's being used as a moss rock ATM. Thanks!

  10. I asked it very nicely... Kidding, I jst had a swipe at it with the net
  11. Really Caryl? When I had my first batch, I saw a harlequin eat one right in front of me, I made it spit it out but it died later I think. I only got 10-15 from my first 2 spawns, many more from this one though.
  12. Congrats! I'm assuming you've taken all the other fish out of the tank except the parents? My BN's have only spawned for the third time but removing other fish that would otherwise eat the young has greatly improved survival rates. Once they've eaten up here yolk sacks (or even a bit before) you can add a not-too-thick slice of cucumber attached to a plant weight. Even a couple of algae wafers too. The idea is to have only enough cucumber for them, but replace it often. They cloud the water if left in too long. HTH and good luck!
  13. I think what Twinkles is trying to say is that this information sounds like it's 20 years old/out dated. Read some of the old books, they sounds just like this. Irrelevant these days.

  15. Could some Borneo suckers go in this tank potentially?
  16. Quite quickly in the right conditions, will stay alive under poor ones too.
  17. Very good point Phil I imagine this works very well for your tanks but in someones display tank, maybe not so well. If they would like a decent amount plants then an undergravel filter isn't suitable. The plant's roots will impair the filter's effectiveness over time, possibley even stopping it all together. If the filter is air driven, then that's even worse because plants thrive on CO2. What may work for some, won't work for others. You have to assess these kinds of things on a case by case basis. HTH
  18. I WISH they ate algae, I'm yet to find a creature that actually consumes the stuff! I love my MTS, they're osum 8)
  19. Thanks Dixon! I know we CAN get Imbellis here but I don't think we HAVE them
