  1. 900 x 400 x 300mm, no filter going or water changes. Contains 1 x 50cm+ female F. silvestris catus. About 3 years old from SPCA, sorry about the pics, had to use the flash. Is she too big for the tank? What else can I add? Thanks!
  2. At the end of the day it's Nyclos choice, not yours. I'm not saying they won't be sold to you but do try and think of other people and what might be best or easiest for them. Also, I think quadruple might be a bit much.
  3. What I used to do with guppies is let them birth in the main tank and move the fry to a net breeder inside the main tank. Had a fair few plants though. If the fry are born in a smaller area, chances are they'll get eaten. Good luck!

Try and get some surface agitation too. That'll help cool it down. It's not a case of a broken thermometer is it?

Mine are all fine. Sorry to hear about yours though
  6. Personally I'd remove the platies, either to another tank or a container inside their current tank.
  7. Then go to the local shop and get one

    Hey

As has been said, the bigger the better. I personally don't use alot (if any) filtration, but I have a very low stocking level or frequent water changes.

    Hey

No such thing I do alot of research too, better to know what you don't need than to not know what you do need. I'm clueless about discus breeders, although they will feature with me at a later date if all goes to plan 8) If I was you, I'd plant heavily, even with low foreground plants so gravel cleaning isn't needed, the plants will use the fish waste as fertilizer. But your way can work too. I love the BN's, I have more than 50 of them. Really cool fish IME. As for the tank, I believe it's bow front not bay front HTH

    Hey

Could you be a bit more specific? Kidding. But it would help if you had some clear set questions we could answer, or are you just looking for guidance along the way? Here to help 8)
  11. If you're still unsure, here's how to do it. Make sure your picture is no more than 640 pixels high x 640 pixels wide, 640x480 is a standard size. Copy the direct link to the picture www.yourpicture.com/picture1.jpg, make sure it has the jpg on the end and not a link to the page it's on. Put the tags at the front and back of the picture link respectively. HTH if you haven't already got it 8)

    Hey

    Welcome to FNZAS 8)
  13. Same here. I decided I wanted goldfish after having them a few years ago, not really my fish. Won a tank from a $1 reserve auction for a but more than $1  . Saw tropicals and plants and went from there. Now about 2 years later, I have 7 tanks, 4 from the same guy who made my original tank.
  14. Well their tank will be going soon and there are only 3 or so fry that wont be eaten. The rest are super tiny, like 2mm. Still unsure about how to get them all I have a BN spawn of about 50 right now. Nothing else, I'm sort of between tanks, will get into Apistos soon hopefully. And more fighters. Back on topic now!
  15. Well my current pair isn't spawning and their last fry are a bit wild.
  16. Botany is about 15-20mins away... Yes skinny, yes with Mum and yes asked about fighters. Your friend was there too.
  17. Botany no, blonde no, guppies yes. You did come and get some off me. 8) What do you mean, on a lighter note? :-?
  18. The fish could have been producing the CO2 that made your plants pearl. My plants didn't pearl before CO2 due to a very low stocking level.
  19. I beg to differ. I have mine on the outlet of my RIO180 internal filter and the bubbles get dispersed heaps. They do rise to the surface but when it was properly planted, the plants pearled like crazy. If that's not an indication of CO2 in the water then I don't know what is.
  20. I've read that the carbon can cause metal to corrode so I choose to do it on the outlet. Unless you're not getting enough CO2, I find diffusion in small tanks isn't needed.
  21. That sounds about right, CO2 line is best put onto filter outlet.
  22. I'm only raising my 1st ever spawn now and they're almost 2 months old. I believe some of them are stunted due to my neglect  . I'm leaving them in a tank with lots of plants and algae and feeding crushed flake daily. In Thailand, they just move them into outdoor ponds, survival of the fittest. I'd rather have a few good ones than have to cull a whole lot. JMPO though. HTH
