  1. Pretty stoked to find the H.Nicaraguensis with eggs tonight. :happy1: Will try and put some pics up as soon as I find the camera
  2. Will you be getting any shells? You would also want some slate and maybe some kind of twisted val? You might be able to get away with one or two more peacocks depending on which kind you get
  3. http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/cichlid/lionhead.php You could also try some smaler SA cichlids or dwarfs, keyholes or rams should work. There is also Pelvicachromis pulcher aka Kribensis, which is a more peaceful cichlid for beginners. If you obtained a breeding pair you would be able to watch them raize their fry and sell them for a small amount of $$$.
  4. I have recently noticed my tank leaking so baught a new one, but just wanted to know if i would be able to swap the sand, plants, water, filter and fish into the new tank without any problems? :dunno: Thanks
  5. I have kept them together for 2-3 years with no problems?
  6. +1. Placid in a larger cichlid comunity, but still mean towards smaller fish
  7. Get some sort of bichir (not ornate though) or eel maybe knifefish. I used to have a Leopard Ctenopoma he ate pellets and prawn, but got quite bossy and still is in his new home (a 6 footer) bgks are awesome, make sure you get one.
  8. not very/too common but lfs can order them for you.

  10. I have four atm and are planning on breeding them
  11. Not planning on breeding them
  12. Where in nz are you? I have two for sale if you are in chch
  13. Im just wondering if i could put my electric yellows in with my shellies with out any huge problems ie eating/killing each other?
  14. Feed grated prawn or shrimp. It's alot cheaper than bloodworms and they will grow faster and be more healthy eating it. Also make sure you get it hand tame. They are awesome fish, good luck
  15. Im thinking about setting up diy co2 but am unsure about the ph fluctuations is there anyway to to stop it? My tank is about 115l and has a large piece of driftwood in it with rams, angels, corys, barbs and tetras. What do i need to know and have to set a diy system up? Any tips?
  16. Rams are real bad perents apart from the odd exception. They will most likely eat the eggs or fry if you leave them together.
  17. Put an airstone and meth blue in now (right now) or you will lose every egg to fungus.
  18. mars This: :happy1: or That: :happy2:
  19. Also do you have them next to the air stone I think the whole point of using them with eggs is getting good water flow going over/around the eggs?
  20. Albino corys  Sounds likew your doing it right but try adding meth blue to the tank next time it will help them to not get fungus on them
