Hi All, After a few requests for pics I have managed to get one, man they move quick when you try to get a pic, managed to get a couple while they were resting, and yes i know the pic is small, but in the interest of not using up or slowing down this site, the pic is a link to a bigger one which will be clearer. 2. awesome Billaney, great pics, all the best with raising the fry. B
  3. I can see were you are coming from alan, but when talking heater size do we not look at it as x amount of watts per liter and therefore the literage of the tank would be correct. I agree on the LengthXWidthXHeight thing tho as I find it very hard to picture a 250litre tank. B
  4. Hi Vanquish, I also would say it depends on bracing and glass thickness. I fill my tanks pretty much to the top aswell ( not quite tho, need some room at the top for having me hand in the tank and no water on the floor) as it hides the waterlevel as someone else has mentioned. B p.s if you are free and/or interested a few of us are getting thogether tommorow for a bbq, and if you are interested I am sure there is room for one more, just send Jude a message if you are interested.

Alright, so i went to check on my wrigglers after work today and they all look like little baby fish lying on thier sides, I am assuming that this is normal. Also i did a quick count and it looks like there are approximately 60 ( ) or so of them in there. So fingers crossed I have a few that will make it through, when do I need to add an air stone, how sensitive are they to change in water quality, I haven't been able to construct a divider yet, but hagve a one foot tank set up and running, it has fully cycled and is ready for fish. B
  10. hmmmmmm, owner out cleaning tanks, shop empty and closed. I see an oppurtunity, why doesn't someone offer to take on the position of hsopkeeper for her. B

ok, so did a water change today and removed some of the meth blue from the ice cream container, It looks like I still have all my wrigglers and a ciouple extra from the ten or so eggs i had in there. My question is now, how long till they are free swimming generally and when if at all should I add an airstone on low flow. B

Cool, thans for that guys, they currently have a 3ft tank dedicated to them only, it is planted but really have nochoice as I need the space for my plants I have placed them in an ice cream container, the eggs were fungusing very quickly, so I plucked them of with an eye dropper, I have about 20 wrigglers at a glance and about ten that haven't hatched or fungused yet. Have added a tiny drop of meth blue just incase the eggs decide to hatch, and will slowely filter it out with water changes. B
  16. I will do, I just need to work out if i want to put Anubias nana or barteri on it, at the momentI am thinking the nana and it small leaves and compact growth habit might suit the tank better, but then I like the big, fleshy leaves of the barteri. So when I finally make a decision, I will get something on there. B P.s jave fern keep[s creeping to the back of my mind aswell, there are just far too many choices to be able to make a decsion

awesome, congrats alan would it hurt to add some meth blue to the tank, seen as the eggs are in a breeding net. B
  18. Hi Modern angel, Why not post your questions here, and get more than one angle or opinion on the questions rather than just the one of the salesperson. Echoing jude and caryl, the bbq would also be a good start plenty of people there who will allow you to pick thier brains on a variety of fish related subjects. B
  19. easier than you might think alan, bilaney just have a quiet word in ira's ear, i know he had some, but not sure how much ( if any ) he has left B

Well, My angels have spawned a few times and after trying a few things I still don't have any fry from them. SO this time I have removed the filter cover that the eggs are on ( Yes I know caryl, you told me they wouldn't use the pot I put in for them ) and placed it into a breeding net and placed it in the path of the new filter in the tank, to provide current to hopefully stop the eggs from fungusing badly. There are no bubbles getting thru the net - is this ok? and is there anything else that I can do to get a maximum hatch from this lot of eggs. I eargely await all the expert opinions to help me out B
  21. Congrats Paul, and now the addiction grows, progression from livebearers to egg layers, what is the next fish on the list for you Good Luck raising them. B
  22. lol Caryl Awesome that you have the goldfish fry, lets hope the barbs peek on the neighbours and catch the hint. B
  23. Hi All, have started this thread to let people make comments or suggestions for my tank pics once they are available for viewing. Ballistic
  24. HI Critter, At this stage I would say they are just readjusting to the new surroundings. I got some gouramis off of ira and when I put them in thier new tank, they hid and skulked around in the plants and behind things and slowely became more adventurous. Thats my two cents worth, personally I would give a couple of dys and see how things progress. B
