I would love some agassizii double red again. My male was absolutely stunning!! Anyone seen these around?
  2. My convict x JD. He had the coolest personality ever! Loved charging for his food. Sold him to someone who I believed killed him
  3. Photo update. I have 7 blue rams. Got 4 in January and 3 more a month ago. All are doing really well and forming pairs. This is one of my pairs and my 6 year old Bristlenose Spud who wanted to get in on the photo op lol Please excuse any blurriness, little suckers are busy fish!

    Algae wars

Severums love to eat plants and JD's (thought I saw one in your photo) love to dig. Your best bet plant wise is Amazon Swords, java fern and anubias. The severum does not like the taste of these. Get large specimens if you can as they will handle a slight beating until they get established. FYI ambulia is a stem plant and far too fragile for your cichlids. Good luck!
  5. New leaves means closer to the gravel - someone's got the sword munchies :gigl:
  6. Lol Caryl yes I have a kitchen with a large bench top. Plus I don't like clutter. Ron the tank is 7 years old so well out of its warranty I think I just hope I get the tank back with no scratches on the glass like it was when I gave it to them 2 years ago.
  7. Thanks for the responses guys I know these tanks sit on their stands without poly, but was thinking it might help with vibrations from the bench from cooking etc. Like happy fish not stressed fish.
  8. I am getting my aqua one 380 tank back from a family member as they have lost interest. Although this was totally expected. I'll have no stand so was going to sit it on the kitchen bench as there's heaps of space. Should I put poly underneath? I'm thinking it might help with vibrations from the bench. Thoughts please. Cheers.
  9. Green terrors and gold saums are different species. This was proven in 2007. The real green terror is far more aggressive than the gold saums that are commonly sold now. I myself have kept gold saums and found them not that aggressive.
  10. Yes all out feeding tonight with the "pack". Also saw a teeny weeny emperor tetra baby! They did it again! Lol Hopefully a girl this time
  11. I have used Dalton's aquatic mix in a couple of planted tanks now with fine gravel and have had great success with plants. I think one thing with using sand with Dalton's that hobbyists have found is that if you have digging fish they stir up the mix and make a mess. Dalton's also lasts at least 2 years possibly 3.
  12. One of my german blue ram juveniles. Approx 2 months old and had them for 2 weeks now. And their tank:
  13. Looks great David Do like that sand. Does it look as dirty as white? I got disgusted with being unable to keep sand clean that I removed it from all my tanks ages ago. Are Altifrons available in stores at all? David what kind of angels are those?

  16. Thanks fishguy I'll give it a go.
  17. No one has any advice to give?? :-? I don't want to have to sell the Zodiac Loach as I have had him/her for 2 years.
  18. Are the khuli loach and zodiac loach compatible? I have searched the web and found nothing. Hoping to move 1 zodiac loach into a 4ft with 6 khulis. My khulis are actively about even with the light on so dont want that to stop. Anyone kept them together successfully? Cheers

    loach trap

Pulling 2 tanks apart to catch a combined total of 7 loaches works too :slfg:
  22. My understanding is that carpet is a fixture but I can see the insurance company being able to back out of the claim seeing as the carpet was not "fixed". Dishwashers are a chattel. Linda the 620T I bought had extra silicone added to the back edges. Perhaps this helps strengthen it? I will have to move at least 2 4 foot tanks soon perhaps even 3 if one doesn't sell. Not looking forward to it :-?
  23. Sorry to hear of your problems Linda. I know the 620T I bought secondhand had been resealled. The 850 also secondhand was fine and was older and not been resealled. If you are really worried you could have it checked out. Moving any tank while on its stand is not good I'm told. Good luck!
