I agree it could be the Hamilton water. I seem to be successful in keeping fish alive and my plants grow like crazy! I bought an Apistogramma agazzi double red a few weeks ago and he is doing really well, grown a bit already. Sure is feisty and holds his own against the T Bars. I would like to get some more Apisto's but need to find another bigger tank first. Danval I hope you have another successful spawning

Thanks Phoenix So I paid the Crypt price for a sword...fantastic :roll: The plant was pretty small when I got it and I guess you sometimes have to take peoples word for it. Do swords start out with scalloped leaves tho?

Hi I bought this plant as a "Crpyt" and initally it had scalloped leaves then grew long leaves like a Amazon Sword. Now it has a long stem with several new leave shoots growing along it. My questions are: 1. Is this a Crpyt if so what is it called? 2. Do I need to allow the stem to reach out of the water? or do I need to cultivate it? I have recently got 2 GT's and another JD. The new JD is more shy than the GT's. I have found that feeding the new additions blood worms when the rest are sleeping helps (prior to the lights going on). I thought blood worms were ok on the water as long as you rinsed them first? Cichlids will generally eat anything you give them so sorry but it sounds like your fish are stressed.
