  1. neither frequent the forum anymore.
  2. yeah i was kidding btw, wasn't actually suggesting you do it
  3. BGK? would outgrow the tank maybe. Super ultra stunted aro ? Nandus is your best bet probably.
  4. Arowanas IMO are much more appealing, the big G's in HFF stores are ugly as hell, especially that one in Roskill. If you keep them together I would say have the aro a little bigger than the G, I have seen them get quite aggressive - big tank needed too.

Used to own a few, nice fish. Good tank mates for big fish, minimum 6ft to house for life - check out the Indo tigers on MFK that are 20inch+
  6. Nice! Time to put in some big fish methinks.
  7. I have seen a similar acclimatisation on mfk with bumblebee groupers, with more success. But still, if its saltwater it should stay saltwater.
  8. As juveniles they have been found in brackish, which has led to people acclimatising JUVENILES ONLY into freshwater, but it severely reduces their lifespan and they get a whole load of health problems = not proper husbandry for a SALTWATER shark. I am no expert whatsoever, but with a little reading and asking the guys that know their stuff on MFK you can easily find out about them.
  9. No we cant. And no you cannot keep them with goldfish, misinformation. Go on MFK, most of the guys there know how to care for them properly. Did a little reading on them too at one stage; 400gallon tank recommended, not a freshwater species.
  10. You're not getting a black aro? surely someplace will stock them?
  11. I assume we are talking loaches not funny people
  12. Best one so far IMO was the reptiles, Komodo dragons kick ass. 8)
  13. Anyone have experience on overall growth rates on these fish? I picked up a 20cm specimen in January I think? I would now say it is 25-30cm, I thought these guys grew slow? However, the tank conditions dramatically increased in quality when I received it + it got a healthy wholesome diet

    SICK! hardout aquascaper alert!
  15. Whatever fish you like I guess.
  16. bichirs are very different to danios.
  17. small danios? fast moving small schooling fish.
  18. Talk to Henward, the aro guru, he also has experience with keeping discus( ) and aros 8). His tanks are also the same size.

They are also probably the least cool fish to have in a massive pond IMO, best thing would be large catfish, gars, bass, rays - since we have none, no point.
  20. IMO yes, I had one in mine, made me feel guilty having one and he wasn't even at 2ft yet , BGKs are awesome too and are much easier to house.
  21. African butterfly fish, congo tetras and a group of lumphead african cichlids - maybe 1 bichir (senegal/delhezi) cos they are the best
  22. Weight it down underwater, the saturation of the wood occurs faster. Boiling kills the bacteria, should be ok in your tank, be aware though that it will leach tannins (not a bad thing), and the water may turn yellowish.
