  1. The tiger eating the dragon?! :tears:
  2. Looks great, might be better with a background poster though? What kind of filter are you running? I'm not an expert on stocking, but it seems to me like you might be slightly overstocked.. Someone else will probably have to weigh in to be sure though, lol.
  3. Careful lol, don't get so carried away with your new dragon that you forget the tiger in the bedroom.. :sage:
  4. If he's got a temper you can call him Alex Ferguson? :an!gry
  5. You're not alone lol. I'm nearly constantly thinking of what to feed my fish to give them variety and nutrients. Every time I go to an LFS I always have a look at what food they sell just in case there's something new that I can feed lol. After all the trouble of getting my aro onto pellets, now I think I need to feed him more shrimp! I suspect that my reduced feeding of shrimp (now once a week) has made him much more aggro. He eats A LOT of pellets (about 20-30 in a day) but he has been systematically taking out my convicts. In the past 2 weeks or so, he has eaten both the females (very sneakily) and last night he kept me up with his splashing around. When I checked in the morning, he had taken out one of the males. He obviously didn't want to eat it (or couldn't), but he just kept going for him all night - didn't touch the other male. So either he's hungry for something meaty, or his hunting instinct is kicking in more now that he can't munch on the prawns. The other male is untouched, and he has never bothered my convicts in the past 5 months of co-existence. I can only guess that the difference was reduction of prawns. ...If he kills the ornate, you'll see a green aro on Trademe. :an!gry

  7. Someone lit a match in the outhouse? :slfg: :slfg:
  8. Face it, Henward.. If you name it a girl's name people will either say it sounds like a hooker or a game character. So why not name it something manly? Jonah Lomu or something lol! "...me love you long time!" :rotf:
  9. Woo! I saw some on special recently, I think they were going for $700 and thought that was a good price, but $500 is even better! Now.. All I need is an excuse to get an FX5.. :slfg:
  10. I think the $500 was referring to the FX5 haha, in which case, where can I get the same deal??
  11. Considering how coke will dissolve a human tooth in a week, I don't think worm eggs would be able to survive in there lol!
  12. Lordy, lordy, lordy, you have some fat bichirs! I don't see how I missed them when I was over lol.. (Oh, yeah the 50cm RTG in my face hahaha) What are the lighter coloured ones called?
  13. Hope you've got your tanning lights sorted! I know it's ugly, but for the best results you should place the lights on the side of the tank rather than on top.. But I'm sure you already knew that! :smln:
  14. I love sumps as well because they are really good for filtration and hiding all the accessories, but in this case, I would have to agree that a canister is probably the better way to go. For 365L, your overflow must be pretty huge to be able to accommodate the large pump which gives you the insane hourly turnover you're after. And what people don't realise is just how much math goes into a sump design! I only have a sump because it came with the tank, I would never be able to calculate everything right myself. Even after buying the tank/ sump, it took me one wasted pump to get the flow rate correct, I now have a pump which is too powerful for the sump overflow sitting in my storage because I couldn't find a buyer lol. Even if you wanted to cram 50 fish into that 365L, I'm sure that an FX5 which is designed for 1500L will be more than sufficient for you. Save the sump for your (eventual) huge tank - trust me, it will come.
  15. Just a note that if you want to go for a simple tank interior, try to use a sump so that you can hide all your heaters/ thermometer/ pumps etc. Just one pipe out and one hose in..
  16. There has been extensive debate about this and most people would agree that raw seafood is the best option. Cooking meat makes it harder to digest which can potentially kill your fish. Some would say that chicken/ beef is bad for fish because it's not in their natural diet so they cannot process it, but most people think that raw, lean meat is alright. Personally I only feed raw beefheart or whitebait as a treat, but definitely not food scraps from my table - save that for the dog lol.
  17. Agree.. I just stick with what I'm good at lol. No point screwing up the entire tank, I reckon!
