I have fully grown BN's, fancy plecos and whiptails with my discus and are all fine together - the royal whiptail trys to latch on to the discus now and then but the discus are pretty good at moving out of the way of him

Sounds like swim bladder to me. I would put fish into a shallow container just till the water is covering the fish and feed afew deshelled peas

Sorry about your fish I think thats the worst part of fishkeeping, losing a fish when nothing seems wrong with it

Good to hear he doing better - I wouldn't waste my money on melafix, salt is alot cheaper and more effective

are just his fins nipped? any bites on his body? If he is getting really harassed then i would get him out of the tank ASAP and into another tank, don't know if melafix will be any good, but i would just put a good dosing of rock salt in with him, keep a good eye on him and keep water very clean

Sweet First Q - So how are they? And do you know how long it takes to convert them to brackish? and also would the Fg8's eat them? hmmmmm on second thoughts, i would hate to get them convert them over X amount of weeks/months just for them to get eaten straight away :-?

LOL yes they are great, they don't have anything to hide away now - but yes i think all the fish in there seem so much happier in there new home he is proberly around 15cm, pretty much full grown now i think.

Mr. Turtles crickets arrived today kindly supplied by Insect Direct ... thanks again Matt We gave him some for tea tonight and he chowed down 4 big fat crickets I am picking he would have kept eating more if we let him.
