I have peppered, bronze and panda cories in with my discus they are all happy and don't seemed at all bothered with the higher temp.

I usually boil it for a good 3 hours or so usually does the trick. If it still leeches boil it some more

Aww poor speedy, still have my fingers crossed for him - you're so lucky to have a vet that is good with turtles I know what ya mean about the white worms - I ended up chucking mine on the compose heap, they were way to squirmy for me to touch :roll: or even look at

A few years ago my car was broken into - i'd just had a new sterio installed with the works and that was stolen. After that happen though I just hated being in my car I just felt very violated knowing someone had been in there I sold the car not long after. ^ your lucky, I went to the police had to for insurance purposes and asked them if they were gonna come and take finger prints and they said "it was a waste of time" Nice I thought - the person who burgled my car proberly is the person that does a bunch of crime and because "it's a waste of time getting there finger prints" they get to get away with it. But we the inocent ones are left with repair bills and higher insurance premiums to pay

That would be Silca Sand you're after, you can get it from placemakers we paid $29 for a 25kg bag. As for cleaning it, like Imsmith said - but I find just using the siphon hose with out the vac tube easier just hold it slightly above the sand. Also you have to turn it over I do this once a week, sand gets toxin spots also alot of crap gets under the sand. Plants do grow in it - however cause you've got to turn the sand I find planting plants in pots easier as I can move them. HTH

Good morning - I have a feeling it'll be a long slow recovery, but seems like he's a fighter. Do you worm turtles? if so what and how often? I'm going through the stage of leaning about worming my fish somthing which I never thought you needed to do
