Hi Tony Welcome to the forums Heaters: Yep go with two 300w Not much price difference from 200w Substrate: Since you don't have an Under gravel filter your are NOT limited to what you use. Plants: Use artificial plants if you plan on getting lots of fish that like to eat plants, as this will make your tank look as if it was planted... not a barren dessert :lol: Otherwise go for live plants... don't have to worry about wiping the leaves clean from algae. Fish... really depends on what you want, but definitely go for some Bristlenose cats to keep the algae down. But as Pearlyred said add fish a couple at a time so that you don't throw the bacterial balance of the tank out of kilter. Also as others have said you are missing the other tanks.... once this disease of MTS hits you, there is no cure Happy fish keeping and if you got any more questions post them up here in the forums and somebody will definietly help you. I have had no problems with banana skins.. Problem is putting too many in a bathtub... I think 1 whole banana a month is sufficient :-? been able to kill my daphnia by chucking in too many bananas. I find that lettuce leaf breaks up too easily and leaves bits floating all around the water so very difficult to get clean daphnia :evil:

I should be able to part with a couple litres of the critters in about a couple weeks time . Had to reseed my bathtub as a whole bunch of rotten bananas was a tad too much for the daphnia and wiped them out with amonia coming off the rotting fruit

My cousin has a pretty large pleco in his display tank at the restaurant. (over 30cm) and has a large population of goldfish in there as well. they seem to get along quite nicely but the tank is pretty large (1200w x 1000h x 700cm d)

get another one of opposite sex and then you can expect a lot more :lol: I have 3 and they seem to be pretty playful... I think I have a male and 2 females..(lucky male... gets to have twosomes )

I keep Guppies with my discus and they don't seem to trouble each other. I also have 2 pairs of Kribs and Bolivian rams with the discus as well and they all seem to get on well together.

I would get a couple clown loaches and not worry about chemicals. Give them a couple of weeks and you will see a noticable decline in the wretched snails. I don't think the snails are big enough to cause too much trouble with your Kribs breeding
