problem with BigAlsonline is that they will not ship anything out of the USA/Cananda area Their prices are definitely sharp... but shipping out of the States is a No No. Found www.petdiscounters.com are very helpful though.

Now by the time you get off the Ferry Caryl, it will probably be 10.00am. but I am sure the MX-5 can reach 150kph so you should be in Turangi in No time. Just be sure to watch out for Billaney... he will be stopped in the middle of the road looking for fish and tanks :lol:

I would of thought Icecream containers for each fish and a big chillybin to put all the containers in them should be fine Just take along an air pump with you with a lot of lines for it. Heating - turn up the thermostats at the hotel / motel :lol:

spidersweb... don't throw in too many bananas as that will kill daphnia. only throw in one banana at a time. don't throw another banana in untill the first one is gone. Banana skins on the other hand...you can chuck in 2-3 you do need to have a culture of daphnia in the tub first though. If you are lucky... with the whole bananas you could get blood worms from them when they get really rotten and stinky.

Sorry Malawiman They are definitely not available in any lfs in NZ The supposed distributor of that brand in NZ is not bringing them in. Only source for them is either import them yourself from overseas, or get them from Aquanut. i do however have one spare if anyone wants one. I currently have 2 of the feeders running on my tanks feeding fry. Nice and simple. No syphoning involved.

lots of plants for the young to hide in fill tank with water and then leave them alone. no need to change water either :lol: I have my 2 tanks sitting on a window sill and the plants and wcmm are doing really well but they have to be in a tank by themselves

leave the tub au naturale get some retaining wall blocks to make a surround for the bathtub. to save some money on blocks, partially sink the tub into the ground I have 7 bathtubs at the moment

there is a dark coloured gravel called "brightwater" I use it in some of my tanks... It's cheap too
