that's horrible Cam...a real pity. Fungus is usually secondary, go to your LPS dose the crap out of your tank and do daily water changes. Would be easier to dose if you drop your tank's water level - if it looks like it's proceeded too much you should euthanase...

Dave's just set himself up a 3 encosure breeding contraption to breed locusts for the arrival of his much anticipated beardy :roll: the sound of the locusts throwing their bodies against the glass sounds just like popcorn - IT is disgusting

could anyone tell me wat types of val are illegal and can anyone sell me some legal val? The breeding tank won't have gravel so I guess I'll be planting it in a tiny pot

get a tiny 25W heater...what if you made a small sump lol what's the length of a 25W heater? my tank's going to be 20cmx20cmx20cm (give or take 5cm - dont fully remember)

do you guys stock tiny heaters? I don't reakon you should work at a petshop - same reason why I shouldn't get a job at a shoe store lol.... you graduating after these exams?

haha yeah it won't take long to do a water change anyway..could attempt to make a canister out of a small can 8) but I'm not technologically blessed. Yeah it's for my lil boy..CosmOpolitan (cos he's red and that's one of my fav drinks - my dog's named after Midori )

Mine's a cube and holds 10L...do people think I could get away with not having a filter if I'm going to be doing daily water changes? and the tank will be fully planted...will put the nano pic up once fully pimped out

haha yeah will definately roadtrip up some time and have a good ole catch up!...and maybe steal a few fish lol..oops did I say that out loud again. that idea with painting the polysterene is ingenious! NEVER would've thought about that..if I get a few nanos lined up together I could just put a normal light on top aie? do you flat with anyone I'd remember? are you staying here in Summer?

yeah I'm after something sturdy my fighter can blow bubble nests onto, at the moment he's blowing bubble nests on the Riccia which doesn't hold well...I've got some kind of Aponogeton growing and it seems to be going for gold in my main tank I'll be moving him to a smaller tank (10L) so the plant would have to be short too...

why don't you put the poor little under-developed plants on the LHS and the ones growing well on the RHS? BTW that is an excellent idea to put large pebbles on top - might look into that with my tank...

sweet I'll go for the white substrate and you can go for the red substrate..and then we'll compare Was thinking about a sponge filter but they're not very attractive...can't have a cling on filter due to the lids on the tank. Am on the look out for black laminated backing paper - think that would make the fighter stand out more as well as the plants and white substrate.. Do you work at a petshop? can you see if you can get any small lights?

how long have you had those plants for? my java fern initially went dark green but went back to normal after a week or so, just adjusting to your water I'm guessing? My anubias seems to be thriving, brought as a 3-leaf bunch and now has over 20 big leaves..looking quite cool, thought they were meant to be quite hardy plants? both my java fern and anubia handles lower pH quite well but the swords don't seem to like it..maybe it's your pH

Yeap I'll set up a log of how I'm setting up a nano...thinking about one of those tiny stingray filters and maybe daltons for substrate - I have a bag of white sand on hold for me not too sure yet... :roll: I'll also have to buy a tiny heater lol

always thought it wasn't a good idea to keep guppies with siamese fighters? but then depends on the temperment of your fighter

yup I keep my box under the laundry sink - keeps the smell out of the house and from what I remember they don't like heat either...mine love grated apples!

oi set up a 10L nano like me! lol I'd have to use twezers to plant all the greenery going in there lol...the second one is a beaut you planning on breeding the first boy?
