  2. tiger lotus grows very well in the stock lights in the AR series.... so does indian fern... looks absolutely stunning.. Stu - I'm 6'4" and i float in that t shirt  (to be fair im thin as)
  3. good ol badmans aye? they sent me a t shirt a while ago.. american sized XL is really large, lol tetras look cool in a planted tank!
  4. dont know wil find out soon... ha ha ... easily and painless enough to sort though.
  5. lol.. its a poofy dog too... a pomeranian! its so cute though, alex (bird) calls out to basil (dog) "basil, basil, come here basil!" and so she comes, and he hops on her back and then they prance around the place! lol
  6. I knew nothing about this one so i got him... turns out he will be marine soon =( got another one too - a figure 8, who should be ok. will try and post pics of him when the camera battery is fully charged, its hard to get a good shot with these guys.
  7. rite... then ill have to sell him to someone on here, who is local or can pick up - or keep him till he gets a bit larger, and then sell him.
  8. ok another question... didnt see the point od starting a new thead, since it is a general plant question. why is it that the indian fern in my nano is going a rust colour? not completely rust coloured, but just the tips and now it looks like it is spreading... could it be that there is too much iron in the water?
  9. misleading fish.. lol oh well. but i cant get rid of its.. its my favourite of the two, and i just finished naming it..... "pedro" every tank needs to have a pedro in it.
  10. hmmm.... maybe ill see if i can get those in then.. they look nice.. ive been doing a lot of reading on the net after you told me about the green spot puffer... you'd think the least a green spot puffer can have is green spots... but no.. they have to be black spots
  11. doh  he is a green spot then. not happy at all.
  12. :bounce: great to hear... if you need to clean it without opening it just put it in self clean mode, and drain the filter out.....
  13. really? I do not like giving up my fish   lol
  14. ill ask one of my friends in tauranga who has my alexandriane - she has him to breed him, and he sorta fell in love with her dog, and I couldn't possibly separate them after that... any who.. ill ask and see if there are any babies and get back to you.
  15. give it a couple of days.. it will vanish and leave a crystal clear tank... worst comes to worst use some B-Clear.... magic stuff..
  16. well no.. im not going brackish. but having said that.. my tanks always get a whalloping of salt in them. so the fish SHALL be happy ha ha... all the fish are from animates in palmy. ive been waiting for orange chromides (indian cichlids) to come back on the supplier list, so when they did we ordered in 12. ive asked for some more puffers in as well and when they come in i shall get them too. ill see how the puffers go... but years ago i had huge figure 8's in the same sort of freshwater with a lot of salt in it (but not quite brackish) and they were huge and healthy as. that is until they poisoned my acaras, and got the boot. im not sure about the spotted puffer, ill recharge the camera battery and put a pic up under another thread if you like. they are v. small... only like 3 -4 cm long.
  17. already done. lol i got 1 figure 8 puffer, 1 spotted puffer, 3 chromides and 4 gba today. shall get a small tiger datnoid once i get more puffers. :bounce:
  18. first do a water change. Always do a water change if in doubt. It would also be easier to see whats really going on if u could get a pic up on here. Could be pop eye.but ideally v need a pic.
  19. yeah.. and the food... v v important to give the appropriate diet. wet mix leads to liquid poos. dry mix is more controllable for potty training. use ornithon as a daily supplement and you can mix it in the food with no probs. worm them when you first get the baby - you just mix the liquid in their water. the wet mix should be mixed up everyday (fresh). butmost importantly - Always give them plenty of fresh fruit and veges. lots of peaches, apricots, cherries, strawberries, corn, peas, spinach etc... NEVER EVER feed Avocados - leads to death overnight in many animals, most birds included. chocolate, coffee, tea etc are loved by these birds, but should not be given strictly speaking. but the occasional sniff will not kill them - it is not good for them at all though. :bounce:

    G'day!

Hey Don, and welcome to the forums. :bounce: I'm sure you will enjoy your time on here.
  21. either that.... or you could play along! lol here's some inspiration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=un_PjRXV5l8 :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  22. it was real hot today... maybe the temp got to them?
  23. yeah but they all come up for food when i "call" / signal them up - except for him that is. this fellow on the other hand, has had his eyes almost eaten up so cannot see at all. cant even see my finger wiggling a few mm away from his eyes / face =(
  24. how do i feed a blind angel fish? He is now my favourite fish in the tank, but because of a recent disease he has lost sight in both eyes. his mate is always hanging around him, but he obviously hasn't been able to eat in days. How or what on earth do I have to do to make him eat? I have tried almost everything - even holding frozen bloodworms infront of his face and touching them to his face; but no response.
