    My new 5ft

should be $24.99/95 - but only for small ones. that's if they come in. and that's not at wet pets. go ask robin if he can ask for them to come in.
  2. lots of free publicity.
  3. ITs a pretty bold statement to blame the shop... whichever one it may have been. you cant be 100% sure which fish got infected first, and what was the carrier. perhaps you meant to post in the petshop rant post? all that can be done is speculation.
  4. HI! silver foxx - and welcome to the forums! :bounce: :bounce: I'm sure you will love your time on here, it really is quite addictive.

I agree with the S.American theme. do you like chocolate cichlids?
  6. I love panchax's but mine always ate neons for breakfast. took them a whole 2 seconds. they were golden panchax's I think. they ate guppies too ha ha. but they are a beautiful fish.
  7. like this artist, I too am an artist. My next display is in a gallery in Wellington, and the subject is zebra plecs in many individual biotype tanks. the plecos shall then go to a breeding facility somewhere in NZ. No MAF interference.. nothing. its that easy  for those of you who did not pick up on the sarcasm. I am not an artist. I in fact have trouble drawing a straight line.
  8. what about a pair of killifish? dagetis, clown killies, and australie's are pretty cool.
  9. i had a fair few rum and cokes. go the rum and cokes. then i got new fish :bounce: and got rid of them and kept doing that until i found the fish i really like, and i got even more vigilant with water changes etc. it sucks... some of the fish i lost - ive had for more than 3 years, and they moved with me all over and even made road trips in buckets to Auckland when i went on uni breaks  have a rum and coke... or 10. you'll feel much better.
  10. poor stressed rams. all they want is to keep their babies safe ha ha. since you have another tank for them.. there's that problem solved. perhaps keep all the neons in 1 tank, and have cardinals / rummynoses with the discus instead of the neons. your treatment will work anyhow, so soon that problem will be solved too.
  11. that shouldn't cause white spot if it did, my fish would have white spot all year round  it will more than likely be the neons - they are quite prone to white spot, but you quarantined all the fish, so that is puzzling. did the rams chase the neons? cause they didnt really care with me. plenty more predators to worry about.
  12. be nice D  :bounce: :bounce:
  13. use wunder tonic only. no point using green if you dont have formaldehyde.
  14. if you said it twice it must be  salt (a little) and white spot cure. keep the temp where it is at. if you come to palmy at some stage to get that angel, ill give you some other stuff too.
  15. unless they turn out into little devils hahahaha nice poem there mark. very creative.
  16. are you 100% sure its whitespot?
  17. that's fine sometimes they do that with their fins clamped down. but they should be out and about exploring tomorrow or so.
  18. the aquaone bags cost on average 3 - 4 times the price of the normal bags, so smaller LFS's may not use them. it all works the same, there are ways to make sure the fish dont get stuck in the corners when you tape them... but sometimes bad stuff happens. kudos to the dude that gave you a free fish just in case :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  19. getting back to this.. if you are not entirely happy with the outcome of your complaint, then ask to speak to the manager, or whoever is in charge of the store on the day. I know from experience that sometimes.. (no matter how terrible it sounds).. just sometimes it is not possible to remove dead fish from a tank immediately because it isnt as simple as getting rid of the fish and chucking it.. mortalities have to be accounted for.. reason for death.. checks on the tank.. water tests...etc etc.. it can be a time consuming process sometimes and usually involves more than one person, just incase someone else has already treated the tank with a chemical that cannot be seen in the tank. it should however be done on a daily basis, and ideally twice a day in the very least (day start / end). but really if you're a customer in ANY store it is your right in my opinion to be entitled to fair and good service... so if you don't get it, lodge a complaint. no one knows these things occur if it isn't brought to their attention. I know if someone in the palmy store had a similar complaint, i would personally bring up the nature of the complaint with the manager if i heard of it - even if it is my neck on the line. it is good to remember that everyone is human and everyone makes mistakes. To err is human, to forgive is divine. - Alexander Pope.
  20. some fish bags have sealed corners, to avoid the L shape edge where fish can get stuck when travelling in the bag. others like some local stores, have normal bags, and tape up the corners so that fish do not get stuck in the corner. the idea is to create a smooth round bag, so no fish get stuck.
  21. :bounce: WELCOME :bounce: and congrats on the tank. have you seen threadfin rainbow fish? they are really cool too. PS- introduce yourself in the welcome section, cause we are a "nosey bunch" and like prying, lol...
  22. ahhahahahaha lol that's awesome!
  23. ha ha congrats Spink. You bred an egglayer. post more pics of the babies as they are growing up too! :bounce:
