  1. hello and welcome. :bounce: _______________________________ you should not need the formalin, how ever i would recommend de worming them all. I would de worm the upset "hissy fit" discus separately. raise the temp to 32 degrees (your albino cory will not like that one tiny bit) slowly. melafix will not help in this situation and the same goes for the epsom salts. since you have metro use that, you will find a lot of posts about the dosing ratios.
  2. the only orangish discus i like are the checkerboards (or super Checkerboards). Prefer the duller browns, blues, greens, and the bright solid blues.
  3. that tank is a tom barr creation
  4. ive found it stays blue in a tank that is covered and has lower water flow, and goes clear in a tank that has higher water flow / agitation and / or is not covered. could just be a coincidence.
  5. maybe the answer is .. yes, in fact the answer is .. big
  6. I think it is mainly methylene blue
  7. got carbon/ bio chem zorb / phos zorb / nitra zorb / some sort of pouch additive in the tank? you probably don't but just checking.
  8. where is the drip plate that should come with a tank like that?
  9. well i couldnt help my self today. got a whole lot of javafern microsporum, tropica and windelov i think it is and have it in my tank now. looks nice and green. i will see if i can keep it alive and then ill get more in the future maybe EDIT - whoops just realised that microsporum, and windelov are the same plant

  12. i have no idea what you guys are talking about as i don't think i have never seen it. but as i imagine it (and i have a livid imagination) it sounds like some kind of protein that denatures cause of the heat from the heater and then goes white - much like an egg. do you have a pic?
  13. hmm. sorry i wouldn't have a clue then. I know some places like using formalin- I don't like it though
