  1. Ah the perils of the internet!
  2. so what does this mean for us in NZ?
  3. I have Axelrod's Encyclopedia of Exotic Tropical Fishes book. Boulenger (1906) C. frontosa (7 bar) "Recently therehas been considerable taxonomix revision done to this genus, which was once thought to be monotypic. We now know that there are no fewer than two valid species, with several more nominal species under investigation". Takahashi et al (2003) C. gibberosa "Newly described species is made up of several populations..... care and husbandry is nearly identical to that of their cousins C. frontosa, with the only exception being that males are said to be more aggressive than their calmer cousins". Axelrod & Scott (2005)
  4. you'll be al-right with that level of lighting.
  5. what sector in business were you thinking of?
  6. you read my mind  No it isn't. Plus the deduction income taxes and the rise in GST, maybe the largest overhaul of the fiscal system since 1985(?) but they are by no means the most important parts of the budget. They however are the most publicised aspects of the budget thanks to the media. Personally I'd like to see less in the budget set aside for treaty settlements, and more for the important things like healthcare and infrastructure.
  7. There hasn't been a thread about it cause this nature of discussion is the best way for friends to become enemies. Also political discussion is against the rules here. I support Nationals Budget. A few things need tweaking, none of which i can mention here. The term - 'financially sound' comes to mind on analysis of the Budget.
  8. well done! you can remove the eggs with a sharp blade if you do want to try raising babies.
  9. to recalibrate a jager, yank up the little blue button like thing; take a temp reading and set the dial to that temp and then push the button down again. presto. your jager is now accurate. make sure the heater pilot light is off when you do this - if it's on it means it is still heating and this will result in an incorrect calibration.
  10. no, but it appears your friend needs to put some pants on
  11. you mean the one adodge is talking about? - cordifolia.
  12. can't say im surprised haha. its called a 'tank buster' with good reason. who has the space for the mother plant?
  13. +1. Definitely. You may even get algae that grows on the rocks and that would look great.
  14. No, that's how I'd do it if I had to.
  15. 5-8kg! yeah definitely that expensive if not more. you could use a fire extinguisher, but then you need to get it certed and make sure the thread is the right type and size, and even then its about that expensive.
  16. Not sure where you get them from but the bottles are about $350 or so.
  17. do you only need the pre filter to remove the mistiness / small particles cause of the 'new tank'? If so just use the conical end of a bottle with the bottle neck as the bit that sits infront of the filter pipe intake. stuff it with filter wool and that should clear your water.
  18. I would cry if someone bought that and killed it
