use microfolia instead. subulata can and will get upto 60cm in length under that light... trust me :lol:

I had both the red special and the red rose which was an Osiris. This is what the buds look like - The non osiris rose stays much smaller and doesn't branch out as much. 20cm or so high sounds about right in top notch conditions.

It's not the watts. Its the distance from the light to the plant. Try it though. I only gave it a very half hearted attempt in fat as gravel. Might work.

Nah it wont. Still try it though. Never know what happens. sounds like 4x 54W HO? That's what I use on my tank (link in sig). Don't think it will do glosso. Hairgrass is pretty messy too.

It more has to do with the fact of the footprint of those tanks and the fact that the footprint of the tank = the footprint of the stand. Brand is irrelevant. A non branded tank is equally likely to topple over; just as a branded tank is less likely to topple over if it was kept on a stand with a larger footprint than the tank itself.
