  1. lol... how about - buy a jager instead, and buy it locally. I'm all for buying stuff from overseas to save money, but when it comes to the essentials buy it from a shop so you get the warranty and seamless after-sales service.
  2. That center bit looks very --- press-able.
  3. Not all of them. Panaques, BNs, etc need wood and like it. Hypans, not so much as they are more meat / higher protein eaters.
  4. Leave the wood be. Plants look better growing around something; its more natural. It should also hide the roots from the stricta, which for a very dense network and look like "aerial roots" - only underwater.
  5. call up vodafone's mobile 0800 number or 777 and speak to a customer services rep and ask them to send you the internet, WAP and PXT settings. They will send you a txt message that you need to install by opening it and clicking on install  It should all work fine then.
  6. FNZAS forums have a lot more people, posts, etc etc.. FK members are all here; and the most active ones on there certainly are active here. You don't have to choose between one or the other, each site has its pros.

    BIG! NO! NO!

Hoooooolllly! He must have been a BAAAAD fishy.
  8. KP - I'd use Schist instead. Much flatter and not rounded. Will fit in perfectly.
  9. Must-use-search-function. Not sure if much more can be said about it; its been done to death!
  10. They will normally spawn in closed ended caves, but they are not designed for red spot plecos. These are for the smaller species of plecos like some panaques, hypans and ancistrus sp.
  11. Nah. It's neutral, and is a sedimentary rock.
  12. I say do it. The risk weighting for the posion treatment is obviously lower than the risk weighting for having trout competition.
  13. Those are very very cool! Now to see the caves being put to some use!
  14. Glad to see you didn't take it badly.
  15. Only males can "shoot blanks". It refers to the sperms inability to swim. *insert graphic images. Females can be infertile too. But all eggs are infertile, right upto the point of fertilisation.
  16. haha, I think its a silly season. First it rains. Then its sunny. Then its sunny and freezing cold. Then on a nice, fine day - the nights are freezing cold. Guaranteed that on a nice sunny day you'll be at work and everyone will tell you what a beautiful day it is outside... because my eyes don't work as well as theirs apparently. Then people pretend to be happier than normal just because its spring, and they keep telling people how the weather affects their moods! Bring on summer I say.
  17. yeah. bring on the noisy birds, pollen, allergies and sneezing.
  18. They are around, but if you mean - can you actively buy them from any shop, then no you can't. Not available at the moment.
  19. yeah, you get the odd wild looking / brown coloured one. Those are usually the ones I like best - except for the hi fin blue diamonds that is. This was one of mine before I sold her -
  20. i'd be worried if you couldn't
  21. They are a high risk fish, because of NZ's extended quarantine requirements. Those that do survive, occasionally get stunted in the process and since a high number of them die, the price per fish goes up considerably, as any scale economies associated with a larger import batch are unrealised. Better to just have the hardier mutant fish. Well, not better, but beggars can't be choosers
