Yeah. I never cleaned the tank because I knew the micro organisms on the plants and gravel were going to do wonders for the few babies that I had.
I still recommend liquifry. It's cheap and by my reasoning it was specifically made for baby fish so it must have something in it that enhances growth and builds the immune system or something like that.
At the stage your fry are at, at the moment I was feeding decap BS and liquifry as well. Then i increased the amount of BS until I didn't need the liquifry any more.
Today the babies I have are 9 weeks old, and I have already taken out the male I wish to keep and a female who is bright yellow and is ready to breed. Won't breed her yet though because she is only about 3cm long.
From a batch of 10-11; I got 2 females, and now one of those females is developing distinctly male characteristics  which is not good because now im left with all but one female; maybe the second female will make her mind up if i remove the yellow alpha female.
How many do you have now?
The colours of the baby males are absolutely amazing; just like their dad, which is why I am holding on to them for so long. Didn't want to sell washed out looking babies. Hopefully the breeding is done right from the start and your batch size looks at least three times more promising than mine!
I've lost my original pair too; so that's 2 pairs down and a few babies to show for it.
