hi mine name is mark and im addicted to fish. reading this i dont feel like i am on my own anymore,the same thing happens to other people,i have gone from 3 nice tanks(3,4,6)witch i have been happy with for years.i had to get one more because dozer(my jag)was getting a bit to pushy,started looking,have now found 8 more new ones in two months. now i have 1.5ft baby severum(12) 2.5ft jag fry(200)/bbs(100000) 3ft midas 4ft red devil 4ft jags (2) 5ft comunity (250) 6ft cichlids comunity, (10) 2 x spare 2.5ft (in case i find something real nice) 8ft am building stand at the moment 5ft with trickel to be picked up this weekend for salt water its not a problem it keeps me off the streets and out of the pub with something beautiful to show for it.

my red devil (butt) flipped out about 1 week ago,he charged around his tank destroying everything himself included. he hit one of his rocks and took a piece out of his head.have been putting melafix in. it is getting better slowly. he is not as active as he is normly.do fish get brain damage.he is acting very strange.he sits in the top corner of the tank with his tail sticking out of the water and splashing.in the wild he would not be around long if he did this.he dose not want to eat,he is living with 3 neons, i put them in to see if it would make him feel better(live food) i know it is not nice but large red devil vs 3 neons,sorry neon,thay are still alive,all 3 he has turned into lenny off sharks tail (a vege) never had a fish act like this befour MANY MANY MANY THANKS NOW FOR ANY HELP GIVEN

how do you keep the moisture out of the bag.when i froze mine it came out and the moisture had stuck it all together.it was a lot of hard lumps. would a zip top bag work better?(in the freezer now)tryed to get all air out,see how we go this time. there is a vaccume pump you can buy to seal plastic bags,vaccume sealed and frozen would be perfect

brendan; who dose your tattoo work RUM,it fills you up, it has to be food.(to mutch and it can empty you as well)

with cichlids any plant that you like the look of as long as it is made of plastic and has good weights.most cichlids like to renovate there homes,you plant it ,thay move it or eat it.

i have seen him, he is at least 600 long if not a bit longer. looks a bit sad, nice fish though. you will need a LARGE tank

yes you can,you must get one suitable for aquariums (fosroc,silaflex rtv glass & ceramics,clear) get it from miter 10, bunnings, placemakers and so on make sure it is dry,one drop of water is one leak let dry,as a rule 1mm of silicone equals 1 day to dry,10mm = 10 days use glove not bare skin finger

i agree i put mine so my spraybar sprays at it so the heated water gets pushed around. i use a few different thermometers to find an average on the temp. out of all the thermometers i have i find that thay can vary from 2/3 degrees between them when in the same tank

blue and kim get some thing small that thay like to hide in and put it in the tank by itself have 2 nets shoo them into it and with a large net scoop the whole thing up covering the exit with the other net. have fun

YOU asked why your water was still cloudy in your NEW tank and NEW filter and NEW stones after 12hrs. Ans; BECAUSE IT WAS NEW I SAID PUT YOUR OLD FILTER IN THE TANK AS THIS WILL HELP AND TRY CYCLE (as you seem to be in a hurry) as for getting my first tank that was 30 years ago. as for this moment in time i have 6 tanks up and runnlng. 1.5ft 2.5ft 3ft 4ft 5ft 6ft have 2 more 1.5ft in the garage as spare and hospital. i am building a stand at the moment so i can get my 8ft up and running. this was your question,i only tried to help.

filter rate,i get about the same. cloudy water,this is a new tank,filter,pebbles the lot. the setup needs to cycle,if your old filter is still running put it in your new tank as well,this will help(dont clean it)and try some CYCLE from your LFS

i would invest in a 300W and keep the 200W as a spare.It's always good to have one.
