  1. try a few platies or simular to help cycle the tank. as for dark stones, you can get black stones with a mix of broken shells for about $12 a stevensons 20kg bag. it sounds like you have all the gear, just add water and mts is on the way wok i bet you know all the phone numbers by heart as well, but you missed one or two.
  2. will the same water be going through all 6 or is each one filtered
  3. if thay are big enough to swim against the flow then as alanmin said just the hose and thay should be fine.works for me.i lose a lot more when i try to use the net the littel suckers are still alive in the filter so a hose will be fine

    High Temp

i had a heater get stuck on a while ago and the temp got to 35, dont know for how long but it took two days to cool, didnt lose any fish. 30 should not be a problem but would not want it to get mutch higher for a long time. why is the temp still climbing
  5. i had this stuff everywhere and got 3 apple snails,it has taken them 3 months but thay have gotten rid of most of it.you can see there tracks on the glass.no algae behind them
  6. safe to use, only harder to clean
  7. as alan said all looks good she must have a headache or she is to tired a good dinner works most of the time or new clothes(water change) good luck
  8. need a bit more info, eg,filters ,ph , its a lot easyer to say when all the info is available so any thing you can think of, say.
  9. try putting a thick piece of electrical wire instead of a pencil(can make nice and long).the cuts run off because of a small skip in the scribe (it only has to be very very small)or uneven preasure while scribing and sometimes because it just wants to ---- you off (older glass)never used a oil filled cutter in my life and i cut all day,but i have machines.if you want to cut a bit try getting a cheap tile cutter.thay have a cut and break system.only prob is a cheap one is normaly only 300 to 400 long, big ones are very pricey 1250mm cut is about $1000

  14. great prices for the tanks, you may find a few fish in aussie that you like that we dont have in NZ. good luck and a safe move SHAE; that must be one tough ram, anything smaller than a sword is food and bigger is competition,do you feed him on steroids or agro pills.
  15. cichlids are fairly easy to breed because the parents will look after them very well, the problem is that the male will become a very nasty fish to anything that comes close, try chocolate cichlids as thay are not as nasty as others when breeding, you must remember that most cichlids need a lot of room when breeding
  16. a friend of mine has one and it is not shy and will eat any plant that goes in the tank,he has lived with other cichlids for about 2 years now and seams very hardey, if thay are offered to you i would grab them because he has been looking for a partner for it for a long time with no luck, very hard to find.
