  1. I have had a number of people emailing me about getting a box in from the US. I will do that soon. Perhaps just wait to see how world-situation develops over next few weeks before I commit $. Cees
  2. A few years ago I ordered a case (12 cans) from brineshrimpdirect for the Upper Hutt club. I'd be happy to do it again and share. I'd need firm commitments and a willingness to share risk. Email me Cees

  4. The Hutt river has some nice deposites of fine gravel. Needs washing and a couple of sieves would help. It's not to difficult to find buckets full 1-3 mm

  7. Following up on another post http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewtopic.php?t=905 In my breeding lines (mainly delta, whatever is left of it) I somtimes see a type of guppy that could be classified as roundtail. Nothing like the standard though http://hem.passagen.se/mikeno/english/texter/estand.htm strong body type, halfblack with lots of colour spilling from tail onto body. Will try to get some photos this weekend to show. If I remember correctly in one of the latest IFGA bulletins someone wrote about the genetics of the roundtail. Will try and find it and share some info here.

  10. Welcome to the fishroom TerminalAddict. I suspected that phpchat would be hard on server. Thanks for the warning. It's ok now, nobody is using it anyway. Will look into irc bot as you suggest. Might not be able to start one on server though. Great, I'll be in touch when I need some help.
  11. Will add that soon. Need to go through the script first and see how it works and where I can improve it etc.. I'm just testing it now. Is one room enough ??
  12. just testing one room only http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/chatlink.php you need to be logged in as fishroom user I will monitor serverload just in case. don't forget to read this http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/chat/t ... popup.php3 (I haven't done that yet ...) feedback please Cees
  13. Andrew, I have worked with that chatroom script before. Works fine, easy to setup.
  14. I could probably setup a 'chat-room' for that one occasion as well. Cees
  15. Hi Bill, thanks for that. I did that search before I posted here and yes, there are heaps of them. I posted here in the hope that someone might have some 'personal experience' building one. What works and what doesn't etc etc. A while ago I saw one (can't remember where) that was one and half storey high. Inside it had a small 'mezzanine' kids could climb on.
  16. Really off topic. I'm in a diy mood and promised my 4 yr old daughter to build her a playhouse. Anyone here have good plans available for a decent size playhouse.? (at moment thinking about the 5 room, 2 story mansion but I'll settle for something I can put together in a weekend or 2). Cees
  17. I guess I'll be attending then, virtual or real.
  18. posted on behalf of Mike Harre Vallisnera gigantea, along with V. spiralis (the Meola Creek variety) are listed as Surveillance plants in the Auckland Regional Pest Management Strategy. They are therefore banned within the Auckland region (as well as any other regions that have them in their strategies). Unfortunately there were a number of plants from the National Surveillance list that for some reason or other were left off the NPPA list. We are hoping that they will be included in the near future. I would advise people to check with their local Regional Council as to what their list is. Anyone who would like a copy of the Auckland list can email me and I will send one out. [email protected]
  19. An important new article has been included in the fnzas site written by Mike Harre Biosecurity Officer (Response) Auckland Regional Council http://www.fnzas.org.nz/458.0.html

Guys (and girls), knock it off. I'm not hurt, not even embarrased. (But with a website like that perhaps I should be). John1, I do have a sense of humor, I just took you serious in that post and thought you had me confused with someone else. One day I will do something about http://www.webcase.co.nz/ (at least every visitor gets a nice greeting rather than a 404) fwiw , http://www.typo3.com/ is what I use most of the time.

Caryl, You're right. I'm not so good with sarcasm. 24. Your Doctor, it's an 'classic' antibiotic. Your best bet is the local vet. That's where I got mine. Just tell them what's for and the dose you require. Search google for blue-green algae and erythromicyn for dosage insrtuctions. Repeat after one week. Best to treat whole tank, but be aware that it might knock back the bio-filtration. Blue-green algae is indicative of poor water quality, the new tubes alone won't be the cause as suchs.
