  4. I think it will be a metal stand and the floor will be blocked up. We are looking to make a move so i may put this on hold ,but theres nothing to stop me planning i have got a price for a new tank from Greg and the other half is giving it all some thought ,i suggested we get a TV you can use as a computer and biff the desk and have a tank in the lounge rather than trying to squeeze one in the dining room. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  5. Thanks, now i know what size desk etc i need to look out for :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  6. I have been down that path before last time, not with these neighbours i got a mouthful . If the noise keeps up i might ask them. I am hoping that the noise is a part of their house warming party, maybe!!!!!! and not going to be too regular!!!!!!!!
  7. Hi this year i am planning on upgrading my 3 foot tank to much larger , so far i have 11 CL and two parrot fish (clowns vary in size biggest is about 9cm ). What would you recommend i get to house these in ,plus allow for a few more Clowns

  9. Ummmm we have new neighbours and they have an electric guitar, the noise is less than pleasant Arghhhhhhhhhhh Peace is shattered
  10. I bought 4 bubba CLs and only one survived. I nurtured them all ,well i thought i did.So i would go with buying a few more than you think you want just in case some don't make it...

    Moving house?

From my own experience, which is limited!!!! it sounds like you have it sussed, when i bought my latest tank the move took about one and half hours so the filter was kept running right until we emptied out the water and once we got home we moved like lightening and got the tank set up pretty quickly, the result was very cloudy water for the existing BN but he/she survived.I wouldn't have thought you needed to worry about heat pads this time of year. I'm sure you will get some suggestions for far more experienced forum members than me

    Average at Animates

I guess at the end of the day, we all have our favourite LFS.Personally i have always had great service from Botany Animates, Andrew and Eric are very knowledgeable and always willing to go the extra mile, even ordering fish in for me. I have used HFF and i found the service to be ok nothing special but they do have an awesome selection of fish and equipment. I guess its all about building up a positive relationship with our LFS. Wanted to add that i think its great that HFF have a high presence on here... :bounce: :bounce:
  16. Yipppppeeeee, i have finally finished re modelling my tank. All fish survived the turmoil. I am just waiting for things to settle and i will take a photo. It looks so much better with the new substrate, and plants from Hummingbird i went for the very dark grit from Stone and Water. I ended up using almost 2x 15 litre bags. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

    Which killie?

OHHHHHH having a tank in the bathroom is such a fantastic idea :bounce: :bounce:
  18. I have had a look on the net, its all a bit vague especially as I have no idea what the problem is,other perhaps an internal parasite. Fortunately all other bottom dwellers are fine, C'est la vie.... :-? :-? :-? :-?
  19. I have had a good look at him/her, i can't seeing anything visible. What would you suggest i could have used to help treat her/him. It's not the first Chinese Algae Eater I have lost in this way. I used salt etc but not had any luck and I have a UV in the tank So i think it probably is an internal parasite, all other fish in the tank are thriving....
  20. Hi I have lost a couple of Chinese Algae eaters, they seem to waste away,I haven't been able to see anything wrong with them. They swim fine but seem to get emaciated and eventually die. The head begins to look out of proportion for their bodies. They swim around ok and eat, could it be worms ???? I had one in my Q tank and think he's died so I will see if I can get a photo.
  21. Ditto, my daughter moved back complete with HUGE dog, He's an Anatolian Sheppard cross. So wooden floors, with said dog equal tumble weed (dog hair)blowing across it .Can't wear soaks either as you end up with furry feet!!!!!     Back to topic what a great idea might give it ago myself ...
