  1. Cool BNs :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  2. Not sure if you have a Stone and Water world, but if you do they have heaps of black .
  3. I think the murk is mainly from the clay and media i have under the gravel. So far i have taken three buckets of gravel out but there is more to go. I didn't fancy trying to catch all the fish especially the BNs ,hope my Yoyos will appreciate the effort i am going to. I just hope the fish think its been very stormy of late
  4. Will my fish get too stressed if i leave them in the tank whilst change some of the gravel. I have removed some of the gravel and the water is rather cloudy and stirred up,through the murky water i can see the fish are having a good dig around the left over gravel though. I have done a water change to help remove clear up the murky water ...

Mine are steady at 24-25 but no heater and hood still up and lights only on for a short time and doors open all day!!!!!!
  6. Going to Stone and Water World tomorrow, they have heaps of different sands and grit ...
  7. Ehiem, they aren't cheap but they work really well and are very reliable.
  8. I have been looking around on that other site, would that Silica Sand be better than white chip marble???
  9. My gravel isn't that small so what i think i will do is first get hold of sand or fine gravel and take out as much of the bigger gravel as i can, the plants are at the back so i will be able to add sand/fine gravel to 3/4 of the tank without too much of a problem.
  10. I think its looking like i'm going to have to do a major change around then. Better get planning now.....
  11. I caught Goldie hanging out on some Ambulia
  12. At the moment my large community tank has a thick layer (8cm) of brightwater gravel and i am thinking about getting some Yoyo loaches and from what i have read they prefer substrate they can burrow in. What would you recommend i use. The tank is planted at the moment so i don't want to rip it all apart but i would like to add a more suitable substrate where i can.

Down to 29 now.Hood open and lights out. The biggest tank is pretty stable but the two smaller ones are harder to keep cool this time of year. I wll keep a close eye on them tonight and might do another small water change in the morning.
