  1. Hey guys, I finally got 'round to uploading the pics of my discus. This is them about 1 and a half months ago, so they have grown quite a bit since then. Sorry about the quality of the pics, i'll try get better ones tonight ! This is the alenquer, what I find cool is that as it is maturing it is developing green blocks (not spots, these are like diamond and square shapes) on it's sides. He/she came from the local breeder.

  16. Yeh Caryl, I think I know what your talking about. How long did everything last? Did you have any starfish? What did you have in the tank? Sorry about the questions I just want to do the right thing and I can't find any information apart from what nik posted and what you have been saying. Chris-
  17. do you mean like the flakes? did you have any crabs in there? mm .. i have a big freezer outside which could hold quite a few bottles, and I live right next to a beach so water wouldn't be a problem. But is any of this illegal? Aqua - what did you see down there? Any anemones? Crabs? I won't be putting the tank in full sunlight .. so it shouldn't heat up as fast .. Chris-
  18. Haha. Do you still have your rockpool tank Caryl? If you do, could you post some pictures? What did you feed them? Do the fish just eat the microscopic organisms in the water? Chris-

  21. I know this sounds childish, but man do I love rockpools :lol: And I already have my parents confirmation for a 4ft tank setup! As long as I pay for it of course ... but oh well! Will be exciting It say's on that site you posted Nik that the first 2 weeks, the water needs to be changed 50% every few days and after that, once a week and after 6 months basicly once a month. But you never did this Caryl? And about cooling, did you freeze a bottle of water and place it in the tank? Thanks, Chris

    mm yeh. I see Jansen's Botany sold the cheapest one, and for the price it included the tank and stand and hood! too bad it was sold :evil: and I see Glenfield has just kept their's as a shop pet with a large white fish and lungfish (gee those lungfishies are so cool :lol:). Chris-
