  1. i am in need of some help please and i hope there is some mums and dads out there who have had the same or similar problems and some things to try! my 9 week old is testing the patience of all in our house at the moment. not sleeping during the day unless shes on me, that was ok, i could deal with that as i thought she might grow out of it. although its 4 weeks later and its no better. then on saturday night she wouldnt sleep at all... 3.30am and still awake so after her feed i gave up and slept on the couch in the lounge, sitting upright just so she would go to sleep. its a bad idea i know, but i was so tired and we both needed to sleep! i am now at my wits end. i really dont know what to do. ive tired letting her cry but then shes impossible to settle. she also falls asleep while feeding during the day, and also seems to comfort suckle, tried a pacifier last night and it worked, until it fell out and she started crying again.... PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME... i am going crazy, starting to doubt myself totally

  6. Hey All. I need some advice about finding a good hairdresser in Dunedin. Does anyone know of a good place? Or a particular person who is a good hairdresser. My old hairdressers in Nelson have been using a particular brand of colour in my hair (Davines) and I was hoping that there was somewhere here in Dunedin that uses it. Any suggestions or advice would be great. I'm really looking forward to getting my hair done again as its been 10 months since the last time (I had a baby during this time) and I would love to feel "normal" again! :happy2: Thanks
  7. No there isnt, only 1 pet shop in Nelson city Theres 2 in Richmond, but there is quite a few people out and about the city that have fish or breed them. Remember its not what you know its who you know, and that saying REALLY applies to Nelson!!!
  8. I need to find a good vet in Dunedin. Can anyone recommend one? I am going to be living in Abbotsford, but I dont mind a little bit of travel is the vet is right. It would help if the vet doubles as a cattery/place for cat to stay when needed. I am just about to have a baby and I don't really want to leave the cat alone in a new house (if the baby comes early :nilly: ). Any suggestions? Thanks
  9. Nelson is a wonderful place, if you move away you ALWAYS end up coming back! Gotta love the weather, im glad it put on a brilliant day for you! :happy2:

  13. oh holey heck......i can understand why you dont want those things climbing round your house! they would be crispy spiders if they were at my house. YUCK! sorry all you spider lovers, but i really can deal with big spiders! :nilly: hopefully someone will take these "beauties" away for you
  14. Just remember everything happens for a reason and good things will come out of this. Remain positive! :happy2:
  15. Yes, we are on the move again. Finding a place to live somewhere near or between Balclutha & Fairfield is proving a little hard since we arent there. If you know someone down there that has a place or knows of a place please msg me. We need 3+ bedrooms, needs to be pretty warm, perferably with a fire and or a heatpump. Somewhere off a main road (we have a cat) and we are about to have a baby too (in approx 6 weeks if she stays in there!) so it has to be warm and baby friendly. We are moving down in approx 2 weeks Please any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  16. my deck is a cicada party zone! its funny they start about 5am until approx 10pm then the crickets go until 5am. there is honestly never a silent moment around our house, but i must say the cat is loving it, loves to chase them, bring them inside and let them go for mum & dad. isnt she just a gem!

  18. just tank was $155. apparently it was an introductory special. will be $299 normally i think i had it written down at work but totally forgot to bring it home!
  19. has anybody heard of aquastart tanks? i rang a et shop today and asked about aqua one tanks as i prefer those and i got suggested an aquastart as it was cheaper. apparently it was 40l and it had internal filter in the top like the aqua one tanks do. i cant for the life of me find a picture on the net so i can look at it. i work in town and the pet store is a 25 min drive away and we need it before the weekend!!! (if i can view it on the net my partner can pick it up!) eeek. any advice or comments on either tanks would be appreciated! thanks

(yay!) our last opition is the SPCA, i really dont like giving them MORE animals if it can be avoided.
