  1. geez that sounds a bit saucy, think will have to get 2 of each to keep at least i little bit of decency in the living room haha
  2. yeah sounds pretty much on the money, natural is probably ok for a smaller tank, maybe bottle for bigger tank, it really is a tossup whether it is a worthwhile venture but it definitely helps plant growth
  3. excellent!, i finish exams tomorrow and taking the week off so whenever suits you next week would be great
  4. oh and BK im getting tank on monday so if it still ok to swap noodles at some stage to speed up some cycling it would be much appreciated
  5. from phill? if you can hold off for a month or 2 then id be keen
  6. yeah thats the problem i only have room for 1 tank and really like the other fish as well so am thinking i may have to consolidate on discus til i can get a bigger tank one day devoted to discus, and just get more rams etc. Cos id feel bad having big discus in a tank that would just get smaller and smaller to them, it doesnt do them the justice they deserve being such amazing fish. Also im not sure if time will permit 50% water changes weekly with a 10L bucket as there isnt a way of getting a hose in to do it that way
  7. hmm i really dont know if id be doing them justice in a 200l especially when they get bigger
  8. whats the best ration of m to f to have? or has worked for people?
  9. man i hope i can get hold of some blue rams as nice as them
  10. rockets look all black and not with a line
  11. yeah it would give them all a lot more room anyway and look less cluttered
  12. ok its going to be well planted and a school of rummynose, cory's, 2 blue rams and 2 dwarf cockatoos
  13. yeah ive got dwarf rasboras and keen to make more of them, best way to go about it?
  14. current plan of action. Get half a dozen young angels, quarintine and med them as a precaution (il ask bout how to do that lata ) then wait to get a pair and remove rest while they are still smallish, and then get water quality up to scratch and track down an existing pair of discus and pop them in, and by what ive read should eliminate most issues.. Any thoughts?
  15. haha good on ya you cheeky bugger, its not your fault she didnt know what she was on about.
  16. yeah its a good point, meds wont hurt anyway and water should be keept prestine for any fish really
  17. price is a bit of an issue at the end of the day too
  18. yea there was another article suggesting that angels arent much more likely to have parasites and discus can have their fair share too, and if too worried just med the angels for a week or 2 before adding them, and other than that there are just the usual possible issues of different fish species. hmm its a toughy
  19. well reading this seems to have not too many issues with mixing them, as if they are tank bred angels not that likely to have diseases. http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/pfk/pages/show_article.php?article_id=259 any further comment much appreciated
  20. also it was suggested that needed bout 4 angels and 5 discus to be peaceful which may be pushing it for a tank this size
  21. What are the pro's and cons of each. Was thinking angels for a 200l tank but now kinda swaying to the possibility of discus.. suggestions most welcome
