  1. right now that the bank has been started and the first bit has been bought, natural CO2, What would be some recommendations for filter and lighting for the following plan? A 3ft l x 2ft h x 1ft w tank well planted maybe some sort of carpet cover.. ideas? possible java moss wall at one end probably internal filter, natural co2 and pretty good lighting( worry about these at the time) livestock: top - approx 8 rocket pencils and 4x hatchets middle - pair blue rams, 15-20 rasboras, 1 or 2 pair small angels bottom - small cory, dwarf loach and BN clean up crew
  2. well technically its because its an exothermic reaction in breaking up the bond between calcium and carbonate so there is an overall release of energy, in this case in the form of heat yea im 3rd year bsc in chem... haha

  4. yeah i was thinking few hatchets and rocket pencils for top, cory and loach on bottom, but not sure about something for schooling in middle, something cool
  5. ahh ok was just a thought, just doing a bit of tank planning before i actually get the tank hehe, any ideas to go with angels well?

  7. heya i have an emerald eye rasbora with a bright red puffed out eye... any thoughts? only one has it on one eye
  8. i have a betta and some emerald eye rasboras and few neons in my 338, looks great with some plants etc and plenty of attitude as the beta thinks he owns the tank

  12. dont cycle a tank with neon tetras, went through so many of the poor little buggers

  15. Welcome, im relatively new to the forum as well and its fantastic! from my experience neons arent generally a good start as they are really temporamental and tend to die while the tank is still new, as for shops organism down ilam road
