  1. Ive lost count of how many wild cats ive shot, you are definatly allowed to and imo should be encouraged... just make sure you are 100% certain its wild and not someones pet. Not sure of your location, but if its residential maby the use of an air rifle isnt such a smart idea. Air rifles are allowed in residential areas, but too many neighbours etc get scared at the sight of a gun, and also if you see the wild cat you need to make sure that if you make a shot it will be safe and there is zero chance of the bullet hitting anything/anyone past the target. Also if your not a good shot you can seriously wound even a cat with a slug gun and give it a long and painful death. I lived on a farm so a .22 or shotgun were my weapons of choice When i was younger and we lived in town i think we hired a cat trap from the vets and put some meat inside it, caught the wild cat over night and then dealt to it. May be more suitable for your situation
  2. you dont need a license to buy an air rifle ..... 1000 fps .177 useing hunting pellets = destroyed cat Have you tried letting your dogs go after it? ours used to be the best at chasing away feral cats that came onto our farm....or retrieving the ones id shot
  3. tank is only 4x1x1 (slightly bigger than 1 foot high and wide) I didnt think of getting only one and hope its a male..... could easily convert my tank over and pass on my e yellows, red zebs dems etc and use my spare 2 footer for breeding food...convicts or guppies. Do have some electric blues im rather fond of, they are growing quite large so should be fine for the time being Maby a smaller pair of jewel cichlids would get along ok with a front. I saw fronts for $60 each for small ones, all around 3-4 inch, Hamilton, Rotorua, Palmy stores. Thought this was the going rate and would have been happy to pay that ammount but if they are cheaper.... BONUS!!
  4. On my recent trip to palmerston north and back i stopped into every fish store i could find. I have fallen in love with the frontosas, there price tag is around $60 each through the shops for approx 4 inch fish... im guessing there are some breeders that could do a better price. This is fine i would convert my 4 foot african to a front colony tomorrow if i could. This is my problem...i only have a 4 footer... fronts grow big. Is there a smaller specie of frontosa in this country? i love the colouring etc but at this stage im not in a situation (flatting) to be able to get an even bigger tank. I dont want to buy a colony of fronts and have to onsell/give away once they outgrew my tank. Can anyone recomend any ideas for me? thanks
  5. GT starlets are awesome cars, i own a 1990 gt starlet which is quite worked with bigger motor, turbo brakes adusties etc. Also own a st ae101 levin which is bog standard Comparing both cars standard, levin bit better on gas, not by much. Levin revs higher, starlet is quicker, handling would be similar. Starlet is alot roomier. Upgrades are plentiful for the starlet, can use silvia/evo/wrx turbos fuel pumps injectors etc instead of going aftermarket. Can do what ive done and use the 1500 5efhe motor and bolt on 4efte running gear and have a 5efte motor - 1500 turbo The 4efte motor responds well to upgrades, while not being too flash in standard trim with 7 and 9 psi being low and high boost, small mods such as a front mount with 2 inch pipeing and free up the exhaust and turn boost up to 13psi (13 being most efficient boost for the ct9 turbo and 13.7psi being standard fuel cut) they are very fun and unbelievebly quick for what they are. Can pick up a worked starlet for 5-6k with link, bigger turbo lsd etc (some people also sell standard ones for this much) No matter what anyone says about them being girls cars etc they are very quick with basic mods and handle amazing (especially with adjusties..i can do 45km corners at 100 and feel like going in a straight line) and even when worked still easy on the gas. Their brakes are reasonably good too, just need some good pads and fluid and you will be able to outbrake most.
  6. for a sr20de motor there isnt alot you can do really to get major gains without spending a fortune. can do the sr20det conversion , plenty of wrecked silvias around so parts arnt too bad. Then there is the sr20de+T, just bolt on turbo gear onto the na motor, doable but not really that smart at the end of the day http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 424905.htm the first one that appeared after searching turbo bluebird
  7. +1 on the silvia, can pick up a manual sr20de with the vvti for under 5k if your not too picky on cars condition Miss my old one, handle amazing and a real pleasure to drive with good suspension. Drivers seat feels like a cockpit as your nice and low. Back seat is hopeless for carrying mates but if its just you and gf or a mate then its perfect Not 200hp like you want but not exactly slow either
  8. What do you want the car for? Just a daily that u can thrash? actual track car? skid car au? rusty crusty to fix up? Might be a bit easier to help you decide depending on application Having blown thousands and thousands modifying cars it is satisfying doing the work yourself but jees it costs a fortune, my advice...buy someone elses project or buy a car with all the work done
  9. +1 to the bluebird sss attessa Can pick them up relativley cheap 4x4 and sr20det !!!!! ultimate sleeper there. The blacktop 20v levins are sweet cars, with the superstrut suspension and lsd perform well out of the box. and rediculously cheap out of the box and easy on the gas. can pick up a worked gt starlet for 5k Come to think of it may be able to pick up a cheap wrx
  10. realistically not really going to get a very decent 200hp turbo car for $5000, mayb a det skyline or cef but they arnt exactly all that fast Realistically a honda will be your best bang for buck performance wise, im a toyota fan myself having a ae101 st levin as my crusty daily and a 5efte ep82 starlet as my project. The 4age is a sweet motor but the silvertops powercurve is nothing to get excited about, the blacktop on the other hand performs well...just like any 4age, make sure its always got oil
  11. Deftones - Minerva and previous to that A Perfect Circle - 3 Libras
  12. its pretty easy really, drive down past taupo, past turangi towards tokaanu, go through little township past the shell on the left couple hundred m down road you will see a small pond full of reeds on the left. that is the spot. looks as though nothing would live there but its teeming with mollies
  13. moving house today, my 4 footer now has a small crack in the bottom corner (on bottom pane of glass) and is leaking water. cracks are 1-2cm long is there anything i can do eg silicone the cracks up etc? dont really want to have to get another tank or new bottom pane of glass. i have about 300$ worth or fish in their transport bags and want them back in tank as soon as possible. any help much appreciated cheers
  14. that does bring up the question, how are some people/places allowed them in ornamental gardens etc, can think of a few places off the top of my head where there are koi carp or are they not allowed period?
  15. or tie it to a pier with the highest tidal movement, even if its ropes come undone and gets lost at sea it will still go!!! should be able to find an old laser/familia/civic hatch etc there are plenty around
  16. xmas is after my bday bro, im shouting myself something awesome for my 22nd, wallet will still be hurting come xmas time its still hurting now, i needed an $8 spring to get my gun working again couple weeks ago, total bill came to around $400 but we do have a few spare guns n gear your welcome to use, would be quite satisfying shooting you haha
  17. wanted to be a marine bioligist when younger, was born 2 months prem and ear tubes are smaller than normal or something, cannot equalise. absolutly love the water, snorkeling is one of my favs ever but cannot go past 2-3m deep, get excrutiating ear pains and head feels like its gunna explode thats life i guess. not alot i can do about it
  18. we play at the field next to hotpools sometimes, usually more in the bush but change of scenery is good. do alot of hunting myself, a mate lives in the hills behind the awakeri gas station, shops etc, been hunting a couple times there but never got anything. had an epic game yesterday, had alot of new and upgraded gear to play with, was a whole new level just wanna play more n more, what a wiked addiction it is, end up with a wiked high during and afterwards
  19. my horse is named "girl" im not the greatest at naming things, girl made common sense to me, here girl, good girl etc she didnt seem to mind
  20. build one with MDF and can paint it any colour you like ill take a pic of the one for my 4 footer, very very stable and very easy to make its 18mm MDF i think
  21. when i was breeding killies i used green fake wool (synthetic i think it was) worked a charm dont use real sheep wool, it rots or something
  22. agreed with dixon ive never cycled a tank and never lost a fish due to water changes/setting up etc i just setup a tank, do regular water changes every couple days for a week or so and then do water changes when ever i start seeing waste on bottom of tank it seems some are religous about cycling etc but i am total opposite, did not even know what it was until around a year ago
  23. how many/what sort of fish are you putting in the tank? what size are they? when breeding killies in 10-20l tank i had no filtration, no cycyling etc & 100% water changes from tap, just used hand to get water around 20 degrees never lost one
  24. whats wrong with the water from the tap? (although phoenix44 said some of the palmy water was terrible for his africans)
