  5. Yes, goldfish can uproot plants which may restrict the outflow, you could at a drain cover to the overflow

  11. As plumbing connections are at an end of a pipe usually they can be changed to local fittings
  12. Filled pond up so need to add a top where the floating islands are to stop the turtles from climbing out.

Managed to acquire an old water trough 4 metres across and about 1 metre deep Want to make a simple Turtle pond so will just create a floating island for the turtles to get out of the water, Used some close cell foam to create a platform One of those cheap storage containers from M10 to create a dirt area so they can lay in. Painted it and tied to sides to keep it fairly central in pond so the turtles can't climb out
