  2. 2 bare wires should go to light bulb other wire looks like probe to measure temp to feed back to thermostat have you tried it already i am not an electrician though 8)

  4. yes it is a beautiful island lived in chch for 4 years when a youngster, autumn and winter were beautiful
  5. bit worried as older fish don't take shocks too well found a site that talked about synos and mucus layers on other fish doesn't always happen though but some can actually eat it on certain types of fish, bgk and discus being mentioned
  6. had put lower dose of salt in as with very little mucus layer thought it might burn him a bit need to stop secondary infections though

  8. have done salt as well i find that the best first treatment big fish so it is a real worry
  9. nice country, been years since i have been through there we got snowed in overnight on the side of the road with a livestock truck i slept with the camels and the boss slept in the cab of the truck woke up in the morning warm but smelly the boss fell asleep with his face on the side window the skin on his nose stuck to the glass of the window lol ripped off when he woke up :lol: :lol:

The vermiculated synodontis has stripped the mucus layer off the big BGK the knife had a small patch of what i thought was velvet from grazing on the driftwood last week treated with stress coat in tank and seemed to be right, been hiding in big driftwood in tank for last 2 days came out today and it is a mess, white all over it caught syno, seemed to be grazing on it seperated knife in tank with stresscoat and anti bacterial, any other ideas

  12. the ones in nz are few and far between as you said and usually found in deeper water have had 2 from dredging operation but that was years ago different species than the leafy sea dragon i think

  18. a good start would be to work out how much you paid for it all then allow for 2nd hand and light scratching on glass wholesale may be half of retail so go from there just my opinion for what it is worth i have never recouped the money i have outlaid on my fishies but i have the pleasure of keeping them to factor in P.S. something is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it
